From DAVIDsTEA

Rich, dark, sensual

It’s spring again, time to fall in love. So start steeping this tea. Let the black leaves unfurl, the coconut swirl and the heady scent of raspberry sweep you away. You’ll find yourself on a magical island where the sun always shines except, of course, when the moonlight is reflected on the soft waves and some fabulous admirer is whispering in your ear. Then try it iced. It’s even better.

Ingredients: Black tea, Coconut, Raspberries, Natural raspberry flavouring, Artificial coconut flavouring.

Instructions
1-2 Perfect Spoonfuls of tea
475 ml (16 oz) of 95℃/200℉ water for hot tea or 295 ml (10 oz) for iced
Steep for 3-5 minutes
or
Sip hot or top with ice for iced tea

As everybody says, this tea is impressive!

It has a really natural and fresh raspberry taste trough allll the taste. The dark tea is well balanced but is not the first thing you taste.

So, it’s really fruity with a present raspberry flavor which are backed by the black tea and coconuts taste!

My second review:

Having this tea again today, I think I like it! I put in some milk and only the tiniest sprinkle of sugar. I think this tea is nice. I do wish the raspberry part was a bit stronger. I love the coconut part. I think it’s nice.
I’d like to try this tea as a latte! I think it’d be awesome as a latte.

Pom Tango (one of Davids new spring teas) really did little to impress me, but I wanted a new spring black with fruit notes and landed upon Fantasy Island (recommended to me by the staff). At first I was hesitant given that it was raspberry and black tea. My first reaction to the scent was “oh no! grape cough syrup.” My nose is notorious for being wrong (ie. Secret Weapon) so I decided to give it a go regardless. I figured that it may brew up similarly to Chocolate Rocket, that I would be unimpressed and continue to use Chocolate Rocket in the mornings as my pick-me-up-I-need-to-go-to-work-now.

I was so impressed! The raspberry and the coconut work perfectly together to create a harmonious blend. I put a splash of milk in mine (no sugar) and it is absolutely wonderful. My curiosity is piqued to see if this would make a decent latte…

Overall, I’m very impressed. If you’re looking for a DavidsTea spring black because Pom Tango didn’t excite you, this is the tea!

This is my new go-to. Admittedly, I wasn’t even aware it existed until I tried it.

SO there I was, picking up a book in a wonderfully insane series (which I will now always associate with this tea) and since I was there, stopped by DAVIDs. Wasn’t really sure what I wanted to try, so the girl workign there started giving me recommendations. Then she suggested Fantasy Island. I gave it a sniff. Wasn’t too sold on it, kind of skeptical, but something about it drew me in. And it started smelling delicious.

And there I was, sipping a delightful latte, all the while unknowingly falling in love with another tea. If you’d told me I’ve be drinking raspberry and coconut tea, I’d have called you crazy. Normally I don’t go for raspberry anything, let alone with coconut, but there’s just something about this one.. o.o

This tea has a really…different taste and smell. But, theres something about it that I like and I just want to keep drinking it. The raspberry is not at all overwhelming nor sour like I expected but instead it adds a sweetness to the tea. Also, the coconut adds a richness to this tea. I only got about 15g but I will definetely pick up more when I go back.

I’m a big fan of coconut in my tea, and this is no exception! It’s very tasty but it’s sometimes too sharp of a taste for me. When that happens I usually blend it with a bit of Buttered Rum (another coconut tea) to keep the coconut flavour but smooth it out a little bit. Besides this, still one of my favourites! Good hot or iced.

Well, for a rainy day pick-me-up, I’m not as impressed as I want to be. It should be simple: I love black tea, I love raspberries, and I love coconut. A match set up for success, right? Meh. Don’t get me wrong, I did like it… but I didn’t love it. I think the loophole might be how they use tiny freeze-dried pieces of raspberry, when perhaps I was expecting a stronger raspberry flavour…. and a stronger coconut one too. Maybe it would be more amazing if they used bigger pieces of raspberry and the slices of coconut they use in Alpine Punch. However, this tea’s subtleness is overall pleasant. I just feel a more rich flavour would make it even better.

I was so so bitter when this won the Back from the Dead contest. I wasn’t a fan when it was first on the wall, and it was nowhere even in my top eight. But it is now permanent, and so we gave it another shot.

It isn’t bad. I find its a pretty basic darker black with raspberry notes and coconut. I didn’t dislike the cup, and I did finish it, but it wasn’t memorable for me. I have a great raspberry black from T2, and I suspect I’ll reach for it before I reach for this one again. I do agree though that David’s needs more raspberry on their wall!

Bah! The coconut in this tea is WAY to strong for my taste, and the raspberry battled with the other flavours instead of blending. I really don’t understand the fuss surrounding this tea…
