From DAVIDsTEA

Berry home companion
Though you won’t find them at most supermarkets, Saskatoon berries are a big part of prairie life – in fact, the city is named after the berry, not the other way around. Somewhere between a cranberry and a blueberry, Saskatoon berries have been central to local prairie cuisine since well before the first settlers. And this fruity oolong blend is a celebration of the beloved berry. Jam-packed with Saskatoon berries and cranberries, and sweetened with maple syrup, it makes for a warm cup of prairie hospitality.

Ingredients: Oolong tea, cranberries, dehydrated maple syrup, Saskatoon berries, blue mallow blossoms.

Oh my love come back to me! I recently got to try this tea because a friend of mine had traded for it and I MISS IT SO MUCH ALREADY. Saskatoon Berries are my all time favourite berries, a staple in my childhood diet growing up in Biggar, Saskatchewan. When I first heard this tea had even existed and I had missed it, I was crushed. I loved the simple tastes it had, berries and maple. This tea was everything I want in life and more. Delicious. If anyone has some and wants to sell it to me, I’ll pay you a fortune!!!

Sipdown!! (170)

Thank you Roswell Strange for sharing this with me. I know you are a fan of the Saskatoon berry and I wanted so much to enjoy this tea. It is not bad, and there is a nice berry flavor but the oolong is just a touch too present for my tastes.

I really enjoyed this tea, it’s nice and fruity with the saskatoons and cranberries. I was worried about the artificial flavoring but it didn’t bother me. I resteeped this 3 times! it was a little less flavorful on the third steep, but still tasty. My mom tried it and really liked it too, so I ordered a tin for her birthday coming up as well as a tin for me.

Similar to the BlueBerry Jam but not as strong in the berry tasting department…but it’s definitely not subtle, it’s just Blueberry Jam is so strong.

I bought a fair bit of this tea, I can drink it almost everyday. It’s kind of sweet but not overpowering.

This was a really interesting tea. It tasted like berry oatmeal to me. I had it hot and enjoyed it. I never did try it iced, as it literally flew off the shelves and my store never did seem to re-stock it. I don’t think I had it enough to really even remember what I liked and didn’t like specifically about it.

In terms of berry teas that came out from DAVIDsTEA at the same time, I prefer Blueberry Jam iced more than this one. It’s still good, but Blueberry Jam’s just got that extra something for me
