From DAVIDsTEA

Panda-monium

Lately bamboo seems to be popping up everywhere, from the runways to the kitchen. No wonder – it’s sustainable and fast-growing. Plus pandas love it. But that’s not all. According to Ayurvedic belief, bamboo has cooling properties, and drinking a bamboo infusion can release heat from the body. What could be better on a hot summer day? Especially when it’s topped up with the juicy flavours of pineapple and peach. Add it all up and you’ve got a summer drink any panda would love.

Ingredients: Pineapple, bamboo leaves, peach, apple, peach crunchy, peony petals, rose buds, artificial flavouring*.

Price: $7.50 per 50g

Left this one in extra long, because I’m a bold tea drinker. Looking for lots of herbal, fruity, and rooibos tisanes to try. Avoiding caffeine at this time, though my favorite caffeinated tea from David’s so far has to be the rose congou green. To buy in bulk before it’s gone, or not?

Anyways, this tea is very sweet on its own. I usually don’t add any sweetness to my steeps unless I ice them (then agave), but mentally I realized that if I offered this to someone I wouldn’t even think to offer a sweetener with it. It does have a strong peachy flavor to me. This is the only tea I’ve had with bamboo, so I’m not sure what I’m tasting here. Must find more teas with bamboo! The floaties from the steep are actually a welcome addition in my opinon. Love it!

Afterthought (possibly gross TMI): I am getting an aftertaste from the tea, especially when I breathe in through my mouth. As bad as this sounds, it’s a reminder of the “feeling” you get when breathing right after you throw up. Sounds so bad, I know!!! Just being honest and blunt, but I still freaking LOVE this tea!

Very light in flavor. I’ve heard that bamboo leaves can cause a decrease in metabolism so it is not often my drink of choice though it is delicious.

Wow this tea is very juicy and tasty. I bought it because I’ve decided I didn’t have enough fruit teas in my collection – they are so good in the morning! Well this one, I can’t find anything bad to say about, except: don’t steep it twice, it doesn’t work. For those who hesitate between a tea or a glass of juice in the morning, you will be served with Bamboozled because it’ll be like you have both in a cup :)

Wow this smells fruity. It tastes mostly like peach, but also reminds me of mango. There is kind of a refreshing minty effect I’m getting on mouthfeel. It’s pretty popular with the people I’m drinking it with.

I love this tea. I got it iced, throughout the summer, as it was a nice cooling treat. I bought several tins of it in anticipation of them taking it off the shelves, but they have kept it as a permanent tea!. I find the flavours compliment one another perfectly, nothing overpowering the others. I have recently tried it hot and love it just as much. I will definitely be keeping this tea in my collection.
