From DAVIDsTEA

Panda-monium

Lately bamboo seems to be popping up everywhere, from the runways to the kitchen. No wonder – it’s sustainable and fast-growing. Plus pandas love it. But that’s not all. According to Ayurvedic belief, bamboo has cooling properties, and drinking a bamboo infusion can release heat from the body. What could be better on a hot summer day? Especially when it’s topped up with the juicy flavours of pineapple and peach. Add it all up and you’ve got a summer drink any panda would love.

Ingredients: Pineapple, bamboo leaves, peach, apple, peach crunchy, peony petals, rose buds, artificial flavouring*.

Price: $7.50 per 50g

This tea was quite tasty. I drank it hot, and what I got a juicy refreshing brew with a bit ‘green’ flavour to it. It was light, a bit acidic without being too tart and juicy.

If I ever get my tea stash down (my cupboard is not reflective of what I have), and I’d purchase this one again, and give it a go as a cold brew.

lol when this first came out my friend and i walked along the waterfront and got really sunburnt… then we went to davids and sat in there drinking this till it closed, they ended up letting us finish the rest of their huge container of it… it was iced.. it was delish.. it made me buy a tin.. i think i’ve refilled the tin three times now?

I’ll definitely keep this one in mind for those hot/humid days of summer

I’ll keep it short since I didn’t like this one overly much and never had the chance to try it iced. It tastes a bit like diluted pineapple water with additives instead of real sugar. I can taste and smell subtle vegetative bamboo but it’s not enough to make this herbal brew stand out. I’m not a huge fan of the softness of peach-flavoured beverages so that may have also been a factor. It is a nice “soft” fruity, light drink, especially as it cools down, but I was hoping for more personality. It needs something.

Had this one iced with a spicy dinner. It is very smooth and cooling.

They only had 12g left of this in the store (which I made my mom travel out of our way an extra 2 hours). I steeped this this morning & was suprised by the super light colour of it.
It was a little weak flavour wise, however I could definetly taste the mango/pineapple flavour. And although near the end of my mug it wasn’t very cold, as it went down my throat it felt like I was drinking it ice cold.

This is a really interesting one. It’s mouth-watering. Quite literally. I guess that’s what they mean by “juicy?” It’s good though; tastes like peach and it has a slightly woody taste to it — reminds me of honeybush, in a way.

I’ve been stressing out a lot lately about some stuff at work. Today came a big answer as to what was going to happen and I’m very relieved.
I didn’t know what that answer would be until I got here today, but I thought I’d bring in a tea from home to enjoy as it would help the day go smoother until I heard the news. I chose my newest tea to the collection, Bamboozled!
Last summer I was given a whole bunch of Blazing Strawberries from a friend of mine and I loved it. The first two times or so times I had it, I didn’t really know what to think of it, but now I absolutely LOVE it. I think this tea will be the same.
I got only 50g of this last night as I was trying to be good. It has large pieces of fruit all through it with the bamboo leaves.
It is a nice fruity refreshing tea. I’m definitely enjoying it. I’d probably buy this one again as it is so fruity and nice.
The bamboo is a strange base, but I definitely like it as a change.

With the heat lately, i’ve been trying to drink more iced teas. Unfortunately, most of the teas I have are not ideal to have cold. I picked up this tea, razzmatazz and mothers little helper today specifically to have iced. This tea has such a light and fruity scent which translates into the taste. The bamboo along with the fruit are really hydrating and refreshing which will be great for summer. The only complaint I have about this tea is the aftertaste; I plan on trying it warm as well to see if there is an aftertaste or if it is not as bad but iced, it definitely lingers in my mouth. That however, is certainly not enough to deter me from drinking it.

I forgot to mention that to me, it is very similar to mango madness so if that was something that you enjoyed you will probably enjoy this one too! :)

I had this one today too. I do like it a lot. I think I know what you mean about the aftertaste, but i cannot put my finger on what it is. I restock this one though, because it is refreshing. Try cold brewing to see if the aftertaste subsides some. I think it has for me. I do like this one a lot.

I had this one iced and will try it warm too. I’ve now had it iced twice and both times there is an aftertaste. The aftertaste almost coats your mouth and I agree, definitely can’t put my finger on the ingredient.

MooKiwi

I had this one warm today for the first time and I found that there was definitely an improvement with the aftertaste. I really enjoyed it warm and found that it was still really hydrating!

I’ve decided I really like this one iced. It’s light, fruity, and unique because of the bamboo base. I always got it as a to go cup cold, and now I have some at home. I want to turn it into a cocktail somehow, but I need to figure out what would go with it.

I would not normally try or buy this type of tea, however, I was in the store with my sister and smelled almost every canister of tea they had, and my sister conned me into buying this tea, only so she could drink it without having to buy it herself :)
I actually did like this tea once I figured out how to brew it. I use more tea than the recommendation. I find if you brew it for too long, it starts to taste artificial.
There is a strong fruity flavour that complements the vegetal flavour of the bamboo.
This tea has caused me to fall in love with bamboo tea!

Had this iced at the store today and it was delicious! I like this one more than Tropicalia. I should of bought a 50g but I went with Creme Caramel Rooibos (which they gave free samples of) instead. I really like the overall bamboo + pineapple combo, it was perfect on a hot day. I’d like DavidsTea to make more bamboo-based tisanes.
