From DAVIDsTEA

Cream of the crop
Coconut and mint might not be a familiar combo, but trust us. It’s seriously addictive. As soon as you open your first tin and experience its fresh, sweet-mint aroma, you’ll understand. It’s the kind of tea you always want to have within arm’s reach. It makes a sweet little afternoon pick-me-up. Or a perfect finale to any meal. Or a midnight snack that won’t keep you up all night. Refreshing, creamy, sweet and comforting, it’s everything a tea ought to be.

Haven’t had mint and coconut together. Sounds yummy!

Autistic Goblin

Coconut milk reminds me of mint for some reason… I drank it straight from the Coconut in Mexico and I still can’t figure out why I think it’s minty :D

My package finally arrived. YAY!! I tore into it Luke a kid on Christmas morning. I diwcovered there were no samples in my order… What the? Is it nit picky that I e-mailed them about it? Samples are almost the best part.
So i promised my girls I would let them pick a few and wrap them for me for Christmas morning. But I couldnt resist opening and sampling some

Onto this tea. I love mint, I live coconut. This tea smells mostly minty, that made me worry it would just taste like a plqin old peppermint tea. Luckily it doesn’t. This is definitely something different, yummy but different. It’s minty, creamy and tastes like after eight mints, but on occasion it tastes coconutty, completely changing the taste.

I kinda wish this had more coconut flavour to it. But very yum!

I’m realizing (well, really I knew, just didn’t want to believe) that mint really only sits well with me when I’m sick. Any other time it just turns me off. However, this tea does smell delicious and I do so love coconut (also everyone raves about it). So I shall give it a whirl.

And there’s a sweetness overriding the mint smell that’s making me think perhaps this one will be alright :)
Well at least you can taste the coconut amidst the mint, but still too minty for an everyday tea for me. Darn! I can see why everyone loves it though, a great mix and smooth taste.

Update February 14/13: I’m trying this one again. Even though the scent of mint wasn’t exactly what I was feeling this morning. Perhaps it will help me finish off this psych assignment before I have to head off to work. I have been procrastinating so much as of late. I always procrastinate but it’s getting ridiculous. And I have an exam tonight. And I can’t seem to turn off Lana Del Rey.

Maybe the mint isn’t so overwhelming. I mean, there’s mint but I let it cool while I ate my cereal so it’s not so bad. The coconut is coming through nicely. Let’s hope this can clear the clutter from my mind so I can focus.

I really prefer this one cooled. I think the mint is overwhelming when it’s hot, and I don’t get to enjoy any of the creamy coconut flavor. It’s nice, though. Very subtle.

I got this sample in my DAVIDs order and was slightly intrigued by it but not crazy excited to try it. I once had a coconut gelato and threw up later that night, similar situation with a coconut coffee…needless to say I’m a little afraid of coconut. Also, to me…mint is an on it’s own flavor in teas, but let’s give it a go.

It smells incredible, the coconut smells creamy and smooth, the mint isn’t overpowering (which I was afraid of.) Seriously I might keep the little sample bag so I can just sniff it. It’s like tropical with a cool refreshing breeze.

I just didn’t want to forget to log this, I will finish the tasting review and rating once it cools down!

Ok, brewed this has an extraordinarily comforting smell to me. A combination of the peppermint tea I drank growing up and the coconut reminds me of running outside in the summer where I lived on the coast in Connecticut during my year of service where I met my boyfriend. I miss “home” so much, but he doesn’t, so grasping any fleeting feeling of it is like a dream to me. The sip is minty first, then a vanilla coconut. The vanilla and coconut come in more when the liquor fills my mouth, I get it more in the back of my tongue. The mint is surprisingly fresh tasting. I actually really love this tea, it’s such a treat to me. I hope I can stock up on some for the summer before it’s all gone. This may be my go to tea for bad days or homesick days now.

Starfevre

I hope you don’t throw up, this sounds too good to be tasting a second time.

bahahaha! thank you, I feel great so I think we’re safe on this one.

It’s amazing cold, too! I have several jars in my fridge at all times. :)

The girls at my store when I got this today said it was hands down the favourite of the staff from this winter collection. But one girl had a caveat, even though she liked it she got a Bravissimo flavour from it. Curious, this was my first tea to try when I got home with my new hoard.

Dry, this smells exactly like its name, coconut with spearmint and a bit of a creamy undertone. Like mint chip ice cream. Sounds delicious, right? I was definitely eager to sip in.

After brew, my first sips? Definitely Bravissimo. I had to go back and check the ingredients to see if there was anise or fennel or even lemongrass in here. Not seeing any of the above, I determinedly kept sipping. As my cup cooled the mint came out more and the fennel-like aspects fell to the background. It isn’t my favourite tea, but I wouldn’t hesitate to offer it to a mint ice cream lover, either. Even after brewing that’s the dominant smell of both the tea and the soaked leaves.

I’ve had this two ways in two days, here’s my verdict…

Straight: I definitely taste more mint than coconut or apple, which is okay, but makes me wonder why I don’t just brew up some Peppermint Amour instead?

Latte’d: Much improved! With the addition of frothed milk + sweetener the coconut becomes much more noticeable. The apple, not so much, but I wasn’t really looking to taste apple anyways! I’m trying to put my finger on what the flavours remind me of… and I’d have to go with those pastel pillow mints that I always seem to find at weddings! Yep. It’s uncanny. I can almost feel one melting across my tongue as I take a sip of this latte… mmhmm.

Sweet Canadian

Great review Faith! I’m planning on getting a tin of this, so its nice to know that it also works as a latte.

Faith

Sweet Canadian: it’s DELICIOUS as a latte! Now that’s the only way I drink it.

Oooh- Kentucky mints! I love those!

Soo I went and got 4/5 winter teas today. The only one I didn’t get was alpine punch because I’ve had it before. It was a magical experience, I am so excited for the holiday stuff to come out next week. I also got a new mug!

I really like this one. Second tea from the Winter Collection I was able to try. I had it super hot at first and was disappointed (also I burnt my tongue) but as it cooled the delicious sweet mint flavour came out at the point and I was in love.

I think this is a really great straight tea to have in the evening. No sweetener required. Yum yum.

Cocomint Cream? Wasn’t that the name of one of the My Little Ponies? The one who always believed in herself and tried to share? This tisane is coconutty and minty and tastes like candy in a teacup! Utterly scrumptious. It does have artificial flavoring. I’m not so down with that, because my Pony name would be Earthy PureCrunch or something like that. What would your Pony name be?

My pony would simply be Flit because I am perpetually distracted.

Serenity

Flit! Oh, what a perfect name! There would be a Very Special Episode in which Flit finds that her distractability is a strength, because she can multi-task better than any other Pony! And she can travel through time!

gmathis

I like the way you think!

An interesting tea to say the least. Much like a mint icecream with coconut shavings on top. It is very refreshing after a long day or as a night cap. With late night classes and new dances to master I found my energy return from savoring this sweet treat. The apple provides the balance between both the mint and coconut, yet stays in the background to boost the two. A perfect tea for those who love the mint varieties of teas and are looking for one that is very soothing indeed.

Plunkybug

My coworker is in love with with one. I’m a bit skeptical though…
