From DAVIDsTEA

Incredible as it seems, each of these pearls was hand-rolled. It’s a tradition that began over 1300 years ago, when a Chinese emperor wanted to give an original gift of love. Made from green tea scented with blooming jasmine flowers, they are perfect little gems. When you infuse them in hot water, they will release the most intensely beautiful scent as they slowly unravel and come to life. (MK Kosher)

Rarely do I reach for such a simple tea (in fact, this wouldn’t even be in the cupboard if it wasn’t my boyfriend’s favourite), but having Chinese for dinner tonight really put me in the mood for a nice cup of jasmine.

This is a really nice tea. It’s sweet and floral. Flavourful without being overpowering. The smell of the jasmine is intoxicating from dry leaf to last sip. I’m beginning to wonder why I don’t drink this more—might have something to do with the hefty price tag.

I really don’t know how to describe this tea other than “seriously amazing green tea with jasmine flowers”. It’s definitively the best green tea I’ve tried so far. Relatively expensive, yes (at $13.50 US per 50g), but so good it’s worth every penny.
