When I smelled the dry leaf reminded me of apple cider just with pumpkin instead of apple. I imagine this would be what pumpkin cider would taste like. I get the pumpkin taste with a bit of maple. Well anyone that know me knows I am a maple addict. I could see this being a great fall/winter tea. Of course with maple and pumpkin I would drink it all year around. I remember going on a field trip when I was in school and tapping our own maple tree to make syrup. It was a lot of fun.

Indigo I did see a pumpkin 3 pack of teas there earlier this week. It had pumpkin cheesecake in it. Thought about buying it but I still have quite a few teas in my cupboard already.

Well, I said I was gonna set this one aside until the fall and that’s what I did!

Come the first day of Autumn, I pulled this tea out and whipped myself up a nice hot mug of it. I did add a splash of cashew milk for creaminess, and some pumpkin agave to amp up those pumpkin notes as well! It was really good, although QUITE sweet. Even with the pumpkin agave, the pumpkin isn’t as strong as I’d personally want it to be – I think the apple is a far more piercing, full bodied and forward flavour. I still enjoyed it though, and I was right that it feels a little more natural to be drinking this one in autumn over the summer.

I’m also a little surprised just how many other people must have been fans of this one! People have been coming in and asking for Pumpkin Chai since I started working at DT (it happens like at least once a week) but ever since September first we have two or three people come in a week looking for this blend in particular too. I just never realized it was that well loved…

Mmm, this is a great latte tea. (I also don’t mind it hot) But it’s best as a latte, and I love it – it’s my favourite pumpkin tea I’ve tried. Somehow it just gets that pumpkin flavour with the spice flavour all together perfectly. Great fall treat!

I can take or leave this tea. It doesn’t taste bad or anything, just not terribly inspiring. I taste a bare hint of pumpkin, not sure if I would like it more if it did have more pumpkin taste…..

I was excited to try the Pumpkin sample set from David’s teas. As I have begun to use the infuser and time to my advantage I have found the ability to steep some of the herbals from DavidsTea more than once (though the flavor is never as strong.)
The first steeping had a nice full pumpkin flavor with cinnamon. The maple came through a little and it tasted like a spiced pumpkin pie. Very flavorful.
The second steeping (at boiling and for about 10 minutes) the flavors were still more diminished but still a nice glass of tea

This blend is tasty with all the spices. I taste sweet apple and cinnamon. This is a little bit fruity but also spiced like mulled apple. I tried it hot, but it would be delicious as a latte.

Herbal and Decaf TTB.

I’m finally getting around to going through this box, so I can see about starting the next round. This was the last of the bag, and it was almost all rooibos, so that may have affected the flavor. It pretty much tasted like maple with a hint of spice to me – not bad, but plain maple isn’t really my favorite flavor, and tends to taste a little too sweet to me. It was definitely an autumnal sort of tea, but I wish I had been able to taste the pumpkin. I’m not sure how long I steeped this for, since I forgot to set a timer and just came back to it after a few minutes. Too much going on today with the boys, and settling back into life with a new baby.

You’re welcome. I might have rated it higher if the name reflected the flavor a little better, but I’m always really disappointed when pumpkin teas don’t taste like pumpkin, and like I said, maple tends to taste too sweet to me if it’s alone.

I am really enjoying this one today.

When I first tried it in autumn, it seemed just ok. The whole pumpkin fever thing is pretty much beyond me. I don’t get it. Usually the teas are just all about pumpkin spice. What, really? That’s what people get excited about?

Today I reached for this one as an evening tea, and gave the bag a good shake and then another good shake. I steeped using cooler water and longer than I usually do: perhaps five to eight minutes? Anyway, the result is good. Far better than what I recall it being. Here I am tasting the medley of pumpkin spice, but possibly pumpkin with them, in addition to maple and cream. Rooibos is a good base choice.

Now that the pumpkin fever of autumn is over, I find myself craving the odd pumpkin tea, like this one from time to time. Nice cup.

I opened this and backed away quickly. It reeks of alcohol, my husband gagged after smelling it and my mother said it smelled of liqueur filled chocolates. I wasn’t hoping for much as I brewed this, and I’m glad that I didn’t get my hopes up. It smelled slightly less of rubbing alcohol as it steeped, and started to smell spicy instead. Upon drinking though, I found there was a definite alcohol-ish flavour to it. It was sweet, I could taste the maple, and a mass of spices that I could not readily identify individually, but that alcoholic aftertaste was just blargh!
