I’m bored it my collection again and anxious for my black friday arrivals. Sip down! I had some of this yesterday and I didn’t actually remember liking it this much! Ginger-y goodness!

KeenTeaThyme

This is one I’ve got to try! I’m trying to be good and not buy DT, but I may give in…

BoxerMama

LOL! I thought i didn’t like it and it’s been sitting on my shelf since the summer. My taste buds have changed and I love it now!

Tea #2 for Oolong Saturday, and sipdown #1.

1) Eleuthero root is not an ingredient on my package. What do I believe, DavidsTea? Your ingredient listings are TERRIBLE. Step up and fix that problem, because I am becoming extremely suspicious of your teas, and that is sad.

2) I hate the name. I’ve had this since January or so, and I haven’t tried it yet because I hate the name. Hate it. I won’t rant about it, but wow there’s a lot bubbling under the surface. And it’s too bad, because even if I really like the tea (orange and ginger! Smells so good!) I’ll never buy it.

3) The tea smells divine. And it apparently just has natural flavours! That’s awesome.

4) Steeped as recommended on the packet, it doesn’t smell as good. Doesn’t taste as good as I hoped, either. Somewhat too earthy, not enough of the orange/ginger/peach smell I was getting from the dry leaves. It’s not terrible, it’s just not what I was expecting from the smell. It’s very orangey, and only a little gingery. As it cools, I’m not-loving-it more. IDK what eleuthero root tastes like, but that might be what isn’t working for me. Oh hey! Googling it tells me it’s like ginseng. So. Dirt.

Yeah, I’m moving on to something else.

Don’t hold back now; tell us how you really feel!! ;) LOL.

OMGsrsly

:D Apparently I’m cranky and opinionated today.

TeaLady441

The name is terrible, but I classify this as a “magic” fix me tea and reserve it for times where I have stomach issues. I feel better, which might be the ginger, but just as possibly, the placebo effect.

OMGsrsly

I can see that working, but I think I prefer the ginger puerh. Or just ginger and sugar in water. :)

So my lunch was a sorry excuse for Belgian fries/poutine that upset my stomach because it was SALT SALT SALT. And then prior to this we had went to get king cake from a cool bakery and if you found the baby you won a dozen cookies. Well right between our two pieces is the baby. I got stuck with 10 of the cookies. I of course ate a couple. And a champagne marshmallow.

I pulled this from one of the 93825239 teas around right now and it sonded like just what I needed.

And it was, although I’m not a fan of the flavor. It did the job though. But the mix of these teas was really woodsy and weird and I didn’t care for ginger overall. I just downed it then took another nap and woke up great.

Thanks, Cavocorax!

Lynxiebrat

OMG, just reading this post has me craving something intensely salty! lol.

momo

haha I didn’t get a notification for this so I hope my new note doesn’t make you crave anything even more!

i am shocked that i’ve tried this one so many times and never got around to commenting on it.

it has Orange Peel in it for heavens sake! AND ginger!! and it’s a oolong puerh blend! things i love love!

in fact i’m also surprised i didn’t choose to buy 50g of this one. (i guess i figured that Detox and North African Mint were similar enough. ?) but either way, i’m glad to have the samples i do.
the orange is brisk. the ginger is peppy but not too strong. the oolong is smooth and peeks out from under the looming puerh cloud. the puerh-ness is faint and not overpowering. but i’m also very glad it’s there, since i like it’s earthy darkness.

Last Winter I got my aunt hooked on David’s Tea. She doesn’t have a huge selection but it’s still nice to have some loose leaf options while looking after my little cousin last night. :)

This tea isn’t bad, especially considering that it contains David’s pu’erh (bleh). It has an adequate dose of ginger and citrus zing, for a palate cleanser and stomach soother. The smooth earthy notes add a relaxing touch. It’s a nice cup to take along on a walk, or after a day of unwise food choices.. maybe eating cheezies all day wasn’t a particularly smart decision. Oh well. I’m very grateful that this was hidden away in the cupboards!

First of all: to my swap friends! I have a few swaps ready to send out (I have everything prepared for everyone I am swapping with at the moment), but our car is in the shop! D: That’s my main way to get to the post, but I’m hoping to send them out on Saturday (which means they will ship out on Monday, bleh! Apologies for the lateness, but know that I care so much about my steepster family!\

However I don’t care much for this tea.
haha!
Too similar in flavour to Gail’s Gold Remedy, I feel like I should be sick. and I adoore ginger, but I think more in food than in tea.

The puerh does give the tea a great earthy base that is quite unique, but sadly, not my tea of choice – no matter how good it is for me.

On a better note, I’ve been taking the stairs at work instead of the elevator! woop.

Faith

Not a fan either. At all.

Cattibrie

I don’t mind this one. But I find I drink it more if I mix it up with an herbal. I especially loved it with Pink Flamingo.

Daisy Chubb

Oh nice, I think I will give that a try as I have enough left for one more cup!

The DJBooth

Hey if you like to swap this one let me know.

Daisy Chubb

ah sorry DJ, I sent the last bit I had to TeaEqualsBliss!
I’ll pop you a message if I get my hands on some more though :)

The DJBooth

No worries I’m thinking of purchasing it and saw your review.

crazy4u

Another sample that I’ve had just lying around. I wasn’t so sure about this one. Then I opened the packet and was loving the fresh orange scent. Then I tasted it, and it was entirely ginger. There’s a little orange and a hint of earthiness in the flavor, but it’s primarily ginger. I’m not a huge fan of ginger, so this isn’t my favorite tea. It was a little better with some milk and sugar, but not something that I would ever purchase.

-Dry blend has medium and large black and green tea leaves with pieces of orange peel and ginger.
-Dry leaves smell of fresh orange juice with a hint of ginger. Tea liquor aroma is of orange and ginger with an earthy note.
-Tea liquor is a clear dark brown color.
-Strong ginger flavor with a light orange finish. Earthy ginger aftertaste.
-Best with milk and sweetener.
-Fair tea. Strong ginger flavor with an earthy undertone and hints of orange.

This tea is always a YES for me. I love it so much I always come back to it. I have a bit of a dry cough and the sniffles today so I made this to help bring me health. It tastes good, the warmth is nice, but so far no magic healing.

If I didn’t have a meeting I could not reschedule I would have stayed home from work today. I’m not germing up the place but I certainly don’t feel very good.

What teas do you drink to make you feel better when the sniffles come?

CHAroma

I’ve been drinking Tea Forte’s Ginger Lemongrass and Chamomile Citron. They helped me get through the past few days.

CelebriTEA

When I have sniffles it is always Chamomile & Honey
I love Tea Forte teas ;-)

Em

I enjoy honey ginseng tea or peppermint teas when I’m not feeling so hot. Both are soothing.

I received a sample of The Skinny with my last David’s Tea order. Wait! Is David calling me fat?! In my defense, I’m wearing my laundry day sweat pants and they’re not the most flattering pair I own. David’s opinion of me aside, I’m always grateful to receive complimentary samples with my tea orders.

I’ve recently fallen deeply in love with oolong teas, so I was very excited to try this one. The Skinny has a very strong herbal scent dry. At first sip… yeah, this tea isn’t for me. I don’t know if it’s the ginger, the pu’erh, or the extreamly woodsy flavor but I don’t think I can finish the cup. Hopefully, what I was able to drink will help to cancel out the English muffin with extra preserves I ate for breakfast.

Cattibrie

I don’t mind the taste of The Skinny but I like it much better when I add in some Pink Flamingo or another tea I like, normally an herbal. You might want to try this.

I am just getting into the finicky art of second steeping – I brewed this one up with 98 deg water for ~8 minutes. It was definitely weaker, I wouldn’t advise a secind brew unless you add maybe another half tsp. loose to it for some muscle. I guess it is better than throwing it out, right?
