Sipdown 12. This is pretty good, but not as good as I had hoped. The dry leaf smelled of peaches, but there wasn’t much of mango scent. I tried this both hot and iced.

HOT
I’ve learned that I enjoy Della Terra’s black teas the most when using lots of leaf and a short steeping time. The results were pleasantly fruity. Much like the smell, I mostly tasted peaches. There was a hint of mango in the background, but frankly it was far too weak.

ICED
I steeped 2 tbsp. of tea in 16oz. of boiling water for 3 minutes, added in a squeeze of honey, and then transferred it to my 27 oz. water bottle filled to the brim with (good, fresh) ice. The results were not too bad, but nothing special. I was hoping that the mango might come out a bit more, but I still just tasted peaches. If anything, the fruit flavors were stronger as a hot tea, which is not what I would have expected.

Yay, my Black Friday order is here! Hearts.

Since falling in love with a peach tea blend I got once from a little middle-of-nowhere cafe, I’ve been looking all over for a peachy tea capable of kicking me in the face with flavor. This is not that tea, but that doesn’t mean it’s not lovely. It’s really balanced and nice, with the flavor swooping into delicious fruitiness just when I think the black tea is getting strong. It leaves a hint of mango on the back of my tongue after the sip—yummy!

I’ve had a pretty good run with the Della Terra teas that I ordered several weeks ago so I was really excited to finally get around to this one. I love peach and rose so I was a little surprised when my first cup of this left me feeling kind of meh. It smelled great in the package and while steeping, but the peach didn’t really shine as much as it should and it had a rather odd flavor to it I just can’t place.

I thought I would try it again with a few changes and ended up falling asleep while my tea was still steeping. I was worried this morning that I’d have a foul tasting mess on my hands (and I would have with many of the other teas I own), but actually it was quite the opposite. What I had was amazing and possibly my new favorite peach tea. It’s also good to know that this tea is pretty much impossible to over steep.

So on to a third try, I did a cold steep of this for most of the day and I think this is where the tea truly shines. It has a sweetness on its own that is just amazing. Even though I’ve told myself I’m not buying any more tea this month if Della Terra has another good sale I’ll have to pick a bunch of this up, I know that I’ll be drinking this cold all summer long.

Deeply impressed with this tea. I’m usually more of a spicy tea drinker then a fruity tea drinker. But this one is brilliant. The flavor of the fruit is all in the scent, and the taste on the tongue is more subtle. I love that it doesn’t taste overwhelmingly like that fake peach ringy flavor that many peach things end up with. Mellow is a good name for it. Its definitly a mellow relaxing drink. Might buy again once I run out of other things to try, but as I like spicyness better, I don’t think I’d drink it quick enough to merit buying a large amount.

Another old tea; no off flavours but a pretty ho-hum peachy black. Definitely more on the floral-peach side than mango; tasted somewhat like fuzzy peaches. One good thing – the base is a little more forgiving than some, and doesn’t get astringent so easily.

I forgot I left this in the fridge to brew, and thought it was another tea altogether, and I just couldn’t believe that an apple pie tea could taste so completely off. Then I realized it was this one and thought “Ah, well that explains it” and proceeded to feeling a bit dumb.

It probably did not stay in it’s little mason jar long enough, but the peach flavour is already intense, in a fuzzy peach candy kind of way. I couldn’t taste the base and I get no mango at all. I’ve had other herbal blends that taste exactly like this one, and I would probably not restock on this one as opposed to the herbals, since I can give the latter to my baby :P

The name says it all. It’s mellow, it’s mango, it’s peach. I’m not impressed, but it’s FAR from the blah that I have come to expect from peach teas.
