Delicious! The chocolate aroma and flavor are rich but balance the spice of the chai perfectly. This tastes best with just a hint of sugar.

Oh dear, this was a sipdown and my previous note is gone!!
That’s fine. Today has been a very mixed day. On one hand, I got some stuff done, that really needed to be done, but then it’s also been a no good icky bad frustrating day.
So I’m not too bothered by the sipdown sans note. Actually, I seem to recall that this was a sample I either shared or inherited, but now I have no idea who to thank! Though it’s probably Sil since I see ya did review it awhile back. Or maybe Kittenna?
The tea itself was quite lovely. The puerh mixed quite nicely with the spices, and lent a nice hint of cocoa to pair with the spices. I had it without sugar or milk.
No one spice stood out too much, and it was not overly spicy. For me to not have any complaints, well that is rare! where chai is concerned heh.
In fact, this is one that I would consider ordering again. I bet it would travel well in a tumbler.

Plunkybug

I might get some of this with CrowKette…we are putting together a group DT list and this is one I picked to try.

Anna

Hehehe. CrowKette. CROQUETTE!

Anna

Also, I need to admit, tumblr has ruined me. Every time I read the word ‘tumbler’, I flinch, because someone spelled tumblr wrong.

Plunkybug

Err, it should be crowkettle. My typo

Anna

Yes, but it was the best typo! Croquettes = NOM.

Indigobloom

Amariel, I recommend it for sure! Maybe not for an every day tea though.

Indigobloom

Anna, I know croquettes as breaded crepes filled with shredded mushroom, but then I believe that is a Polish tradition. They are my favourite!! (even though mushrooms do a number on my tummy)

Anna

Indigobloom – yes, my friend (Polish friend) got REALLY UPSET one day in school (French school) somewhere around third grade, because she refused to accept they could be anything other than those pancakes.

In fact, they’re incredibly versatile little suckers! Look: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Croquette

Indigobloom

Awesome! Now I want to try them ALL haha. Suddenly feeling hungry…

Anna

Croquette tourism. It’s a thing.

Indigobloom

Ha!! Soon enough there will be a website devoted to reviews. It shall be called Croquetster.

Anna

LOL. Croquetster SELECT was never really a hit, for some reason.

Indigobloom

HAHA
No, somehow the croquettes didn’t travel so well in the mail

Anna

Hehehe.

I think I like this one! It smells and tastes very cinnamony, but not in an overpowering way that will give me heartburn and curdle my tongue. I get a hearty full base flavor that I like. Could it be the pu erh? I can’t detect chocolate when the tea is hot, but maybe that is part of the base I am tasting? When it cools, I think I can pick out the cloves and cardamon as well as chocolate on the aftertaste, but cinnamon is still the predominant flavor. I do wish there was more chocolate.
