So, I just realized I’m kind of a schmuck. I swapped some teas with a few generous Steepsterites about 3.5 months ago, and I never wrote tasting notes!!! Blasphemy! I apologize for being unappreciative, ladies. I got engaged shortly after receiving your packages, and although that’s no excuse for my ungrateful behavior, I haven’t forgotten you! I’m going to make it a priority to try all these wonderful samples that y’all were so kind to share with me. Please bear with me as there are quite a few, and it may take a couple weeks to make it through all these. But I’m sorry for my shameful behavior, and I vow not to let it happen again.

Now, on to these teas!!! First up, this White Coconut Crème tea, complements of Mercuryhime!

The dry leaves smell like candy! Very sugary sweet! The leaves are a faded green, almost brown color with lots of coconut bits and tiny flower pieces. It was hard for me to brew this tea for 3 minutes, but I quelled the impulse to pull the strainer out of my cup at 1.5 minutes and again at 2 minutes. The brewing instructions say 3 minutes for a reason! Be patient!

Finally the 3 minutes were up, and I handed the cup to my fiancé to smell first. His response? He said it smelled like “a milky tree. You know, like a tree made of milk.” Hmmm, while I’m not sure I share that opinion, it definitely doesn’t smell like any other white tea I’ve tried. I get coconut and cream in the aroma, which is just as good since this tea is called White Coconut Crème!

The taste is a floral, smooth, coconut-y dream! It’s really too bad I let this sit in my cupboard so long. I bet it’s sensational when it’s fresh! As is, it’s still very delicious. Thanks again, Mercuryhime and I’m sorry this tasting note is so belated.

Preach! I still have a good 15-20 teas left to try from swaps!

Mercuryhime

No worries! I’m glad you enjoyed it. Being engaged is definitely a valid reason for forgetting about tea from swaps. Being engaged is stressful!

Well, trying to plan a wedding in New England when you live in D.C. is stressful, but I have to say the being engaged part is pretty nice. ;)

Thank you Mercuryhime for this sample!
This is an unusual coconut tea. A floral coconut – its like Hawaii in a cup! Sort of. I mean usually we think tropical fruits I suppose but this has the coconut and the Lei in it! :)
Now like a lot of David’s teas there is this oily scum on the top and in a way it tastes like I could have been fooled that it came from David’s – something in it a sweetener maybe has the same flavor profile in a way.
I do not recall ever having a tea from Element before so this is a new vendor for me.
I do not think I like it as much as most here do but it sure was nice for a change of pace and I am so happy I got to try not only a new style of tea for me but a new vendor as well!
I would have this again and I may even add it to an order if I ever order from element. I really need to check them out – I just have not got around to them yet believe it or not lol.
Thank you again Mercuryhime!!

This is so good. The coconut flavor is so sweet and creamy. One of the very best coconut flavored teas I’ve encountered thus far.

Added this to my shopping list…it is hard to find coconut tea that is not completely overpowered by the coconut. I have high hopes for this one!

Tea of the afternoon……

I am loving the Springlike weather we are having. I thought it called for a more springy type tea. This one does have floral notes along with a creamy coconutty flavor. The white tea does not really come into play much as it is light. Very good and refreshing. It was good hot, and still good once my tea cooled.

Thank you to Mercuryhime for the sample. This is a good one!

Dry Leaf Scent: Pure Coconut – and it’s truly splendid
Post Infusion Scent: Coconut, Peony – Still a delight

Color is a yellowish with light brown hue

Taste: YUMMY Coconut taste and CREAMY CREAMY CREAMY! Some lovely floral notes thrown in.

This is wonderful. VERY flavorful and much different than other tropical-type teas I have tried!

The strength of the floral flavors is surprising. So much so that I only noticed the coconut as an after thought. However, as I kept drinking, I realized how pleasant and creamy the coconut is. It’s a smooth white base with some hay notes.

The smell of the coconut is fantastic. I was hoping for more coconut flavor, but I pretty much love coconut. I could put it in everything. The flowers are a bit much. They add a hint of medicine to the aftertaste.

Overall, a yummy good tea!

Thank you to Mercuryhime for a sample of this tea. This is a nice white tea with a heavy coconut flavor. I wish more of the “creme” element came out in this first cup. This is a good tea to have when nothing but coconut will do!
