Albizzia flower is commonly known as the “Chinese Prozac”. Research has not been completed, but it appears to support the traditional use in China for this herb, also known as the “ happiness herb “. The American Herbalist Guild has found this herb brings the mind to inner calm, contentment. peace and happiness.
Albizzia flower has been used as an anti-depressant, analgesic, anodyne, anthelminthic, anxiety, restlessness, insomnia, proteinase inhibitor, anti inflammatory, anti-microbial (an agent that destroys microbes), cardiotonic (an agent that stimulates or otherwise affects the heart) hypocholesterolemic (agent to lower blood cholesterol levels).
Is being used as a stabalising agent, effecting mask cells, reducing release of antihostamines. Helps to reduce the level of allergy inducing antibodies, assists with eczema and urticaria.
It contains: cardiac glycosides, flavonoids, saponins, tannins
Albizzia does not contain alkaloids.
