Adventageddon Day 7 – Tea 3/4(ish)

Such a surprising tea to see from F&M this morning, but it was honestly the best tea today by far. The apricot was really lush and ripe tasting but not too intense or excessively sweet or tart. Just a hint of honey, but I do think it was the right amount – too much would have possibly pushed this into cloying territory but any less and I would have just attributed it as an element of the apricot itself. The lavender was aromatic and fresh with a smoothness and soothing quality that was like a balm for my nerves this afternoon. When I get stressed I carry a lot of tension in my shoulders and jaw, and I could just felt myself unwinding as I sipped this during the afternoon.

Plus all the flavours just play so well together! I mean, the apricot and lavender would have probably tasted just fine without the honey, but it’s a perfect bridge flavour to just fully cement this flavour trio.

Really doesn’t feel like a “traditional” F&M blend in terms of style/composition, but I loved it and it’s 100% something I would consider ordering in a larger amount.

I was looking forward to this one more than anything, but was a little bit disappointed. I got barely any apricot and no honey, but when I added honey the apricot flavour came out much more strongly. Maybe I should have steeped for longer? I had thought I might buy this one, but without trying it again, I probably won’t.

It’s a pity Fortnums doesn’t do two teabags per day, like Bird & Blend does – it gives me a much better sense of the tea if I can try it twice.

Fortnum & Mason Sachet Advent Day 7

I saved this one to drink last night but ended up crashing at 9:30 pm before I could drink it. Then I woke up at 12:30 am and couldn’t go back to sleep. After finding a video about letterlocking (seriously, look it up!) and then looking for mire resources about the subject, I finally went to bed tea-less at 3:30 am.

So tonight I get two herbal sachets! This one was first, and I liked it a lot considering I am not a great lover of herbal teas. They call it apricot but to honest I mostly taste light rose hips and honey. The lavender was really mild to me. It didn’t scream with rose hip tartness because the honey was nicely done. I would gladly drink it again, but I don’t think I would go out of my way to acquire more. I had it sans additions.

Ooh, letterlocking is so neat!

I am fascinated with it and want to try it out! I love the letter of Queen Elizabeth I to Richard III.

Did you see the demo of Dumbledore’s will? I don’t know if they analyzed it or if they actually designed it based on the historical models.

Oh, man … kid applications! (If I can find one easy enough!)

Kelmishka

Oooh, I’m looking up both those now!

Gmathis: I will send you an easy fold if you like! Easy to do and popular in the 1780’s, no wax needed but can be used, so of course I use it! It isn’t secure letter locking but a nice and easy of a sort I have smiled before.

Apricot! This is a first! What a unique flavor for tea! The apricot and honey stand out the most as far as flavor goes. Unfortunately, I can’t taste the lavender near as much as what I was hoping. It’s a very nice blend for any time of the day.
