From Golden Tips Tea Co Pvt Ltd

Handpicked from young clonal bushes, this Gopaldhara spring black tea brings in a combination of flowery and grassy notes with slightly pungency when you roll the tea in your mouth for some time. Characteristic of long and light green leaves which unfurl fully in the infusion, the tea is typical of a premium first flush from Darjeeling.

’Here’s Hoping’ Teabox Round #4 – Tea #27

Now here is a first flush I can love! I’ve never really tasted a Darjeeling type first flush I’ve liked the flavor of this much. To me, it’s a really creamy sweet lemon flavor that I’ve only really noticed in bai mu dan before. It doesn’t really have any muscatel. The leaves are larger and also a mixture of greens and whites. Both steeps the same and both delicious!
Steep #1 // 20-30 minutes after boiling // 2 min steep
Steep #2 // 20 min a.b. // 2-3 min

This was alright, it was flavorful enough, but for whatever reason it didn’t really impress. It was a hair more astringent than I prefer (and I steep pretty much all black teas except chai now at 200 degrees to avoid the bitterness), but not bad at all. Most would probably enjoy it. It has a bit of a sweetness too. No idea why I am not the biggest fan. Recommended because of that odd quandary.

August GTT subscription

Much better than the other first flush that was from last year. This one is from this year. The scent from the dry leaves was much stronger, as was the flavor. A good tea. I quite enjoyed this one.
