From Golden Tips Tea

Origin: Darjeeling

Tea Estate: Okyati

Grade: Splendour Type: Single Estate

Dry Leaves: Medium-sized blackish & brownish leaves with a few silver tips

Infusion (Brewed Leaves): Combination of brownish & coppery leaves

Liquor: Mildly bright

Our verdict: Refreshingly subtle with the whiff of freshness and the typical autumnal character of this pre-wintery tea. The after-taste carries mild muscatel notes and leaves you lingering for more. A delicious offering from Darjeeling after the monsoonal hiatus.

Here’s Hoping Traveling Teabox – Round #5 – Tea #37
Sadly, this okayti was just okay. (haha) I can’t really pick out any flavor notes. It was a little bland, even if it was stored in a nice pouch. It does seem very light to me, for an autumn flush.

This was a pleasant surprise.
The lovely nose is floral and fruity. I would have guessed this was a 1st flush, not Autumn!. Soft, fruity taste is really pleasant. Approachable but not at all weak. A bit too tannic at the finish, but otherwise a marvelous tea.
I immediately followed this with one of my favorite first flushes, which made clear the difference. This has a lot of first flush characteristics, but a darker autumnal character underneath. Still, it made a perfect morning tea.

This is delicious! So so smooth! The flavor is a yummy roasted oolong taste. Get the steeping right and you have a good cup of tea on your hands. I wouldn’t say its floral, but maybe a little fruity-sweet.

This is really good – for once, I have found a tea that has a bit of “dryness” that I actually like. Just the tiniest hair of astringency. It was almost green…but more like roasted greens. Very refreshing and comforting at the same time.
