Funny, I didn’t even put this in my cupboard.. I knew it would be outside my interest. Ah well. I tried it, and then dumped it. Why? It brewed up a purple-ish color, and then went blood-red almost immediately — never a good sign for me. Honestly? It tasted like spiced blood, and that’s something I find unappealing.

Regardless, my colleague Helen in Australia sent this along, and I am really grateful for all the great teas she gave me the opportunity to try.

Spice blood, hey? I guess it is safe to say you are not a vampire.

MissB

Agreed! It would do well for a blood color though.. made me think of painting.

Megan

Spiced blood?! I can’t imagine what that would taste like. I’m not sure I want to..

Angrboda

Hibiscus always tastes rather bloody to me. Rosehip as well to some degree.

Michelle Butler Hallett

Sounds vile. I am guessing this one contained hibiscus?

Made a very rich, colorful cup of tea that made the house smell really good. Tastes pretty tarte (which I like), a little bitter (which I don’t like), and I would prefer a bit more cinnamon and spice on there. Also not a fan of the little bits that get through my infuser, but tolerable.

Absolutely delightful and refreshing, particularly when cold-brewed overnight. Naturally sweet, but with a great balancing tartness and spice.

Brewed a cup of this with my sister while we set up the family Christmas tree this evening. I forgot how nice this tea is!

First of all: COLOR. Holy cow, what a beautiful deep purple.
Second: The plum flavoring brings you to a warm happy place.
