Refreshing, simple, and whole. This rare green tea comes from our good friend and 5th-generation tea farmer in Uji, Japan. This kabuse sencha is from just a portion of 13 hectares that Hattori-san grows out of 80 in the entire small town, the birthplace of Japanese tea. Unlike some other large scale farms in the surrounding region, Hattori-san personally oversees and tends to his small fields on a daily basis. At Inori, we have developed a relationship with Hattori-san over the last 5 years and are honored to be the only company to bring his tea out of Japan for sale. Only a very small portion of his 300 kilogram total harvest is fit to be this top-quality kabuse sencha which is shade-grown for increased sweetness and mellowness. This tea is unique in its well-rounded structure and balance between astringency and complex flavor.
