his little tuo is made from expertly fermented Wu Liang mountain material. Fermented in 2005 and then pressed in 2007 this tuo is completely lacking that “new pu” flavor and is smooth and sweet with a clear red-wine liquor. A good example of a what quality ripe tea made from Wu Liang mountain material can taste like!

What an excellent ripe pu. Completely devoid of any fishy or damp smells. Its fragrant, clean tasting with an excellent thick mouthfeel. Liquor is deep amber with plenty of cedar and mahagony aromas interspersed with a tiny bit of mushroom and a hint of sweet maltiness, a combination that instantly makes you want to drink more. Later infusions got more darker and more earthy with a touch of welcome biterness on the finish to cut through the sweetness.
Hui gan is mild, yet satisfying but the cha qi hits early and hard, just the way I like it.
This was a tasty ripe puerh with a small amount of wet storage taste and a moderate amount of fermentation flavor. It was sweet with little bitterness. Unique about this tea session was the tea was prepared in a silver teapot. I don’t actually know how it effected the tea. It was a large teapot so I gave it fewer steeps than usual.
I steeped this tea eight times in a 195ml solid silver teapot with 13.6g leaf and boiling water. I gave it a 10 second rinse. I steeped it for 5 sec, 5 sec, 7 sec, 10 sec, 15 sec, 20 sec, 25 sec, and 30 sec.
