From Kiani Tea

2020 Spring Harvest – Hunan Province, China.

A satisfying and flavourful Chinese Green Tea. Refreshing, savory-sweet with nutty notes. The foggy conditions of the mysterious mountainous Hunan Province make for a natural shade growing of the tea leaves, where they grow mostly wild and are harvested by the local mountaineers. Shade-grown leaves produce a high concentration of chlorophyll and nutrients that result in a very rich taste. Chlorophyll is particularly good for skin health. An excellent tea to begin the day with.

Wu Lu is made only from the newest, tiniest leaves of the tea plant, known as the “bud” (unopened leaf) and the first leaf below the bud. Each day the leaves are different and the produce of each batch of tea might be different.
These tiny, delicate leaves show their strength as soon as you smell them. Highly aromatic and pleasantly sweet, with the savory-sweet aroma of a spring meadow, wildflowers, and honey.

Tea Notes:
• Appearance: Golden green
• Aroma: Sweet, spring meadow
• Flavor: Savoury and sweet, rich umami, grassy, nutty.
• Mouthfeel: Refreshing, full-bodied, clean, smooth, aromatic flavor that fills the mouth.

Brewing Idea:
• 3g per teacup (200ml). Boil fresh, filtered water at 80℃. Steep for 1-2 minutes.

Not only does Wu Lu boast a superior green tea flavor, but it’s also packed with antioxidants, high levels of chlorophyll that are good for skin health (due to the natural shade growing) and is known to aid healthy digestion, making it a wonderfully restorative and soothing morning tea.

Kiani Tea Advent Calendar 2021 – Day 4

So I wouldn’t normally drink this in the morning, but I was invited by a few friends to take part in a sort of group Instagram reel for this tea, and I recorded my part this morning so here we are! :P

Really enjoying it though! Just the sweetest and creamiest beany green tea with no hint of anything rough. Lots of light, sweet spring veggies like sugar snap peas, edamame, green beans, asparagus, and perhaps even a hint of summer squash. Very light and airy, it would be a nice tea to relax with in the afternoon or evening. It does lack a bit of depth, I would say.

Tasty goodness, and extremely easy to drink!
