Lovely Morning (Organic)

There’s something about this that I really like. The flavor tastes like lemongrass and a subtle sort of something, though I’m not sure what. It’s lightly fruity, and I’d totally drink it again. This is the second time I’ve had a Kusmi tea without realizing there was mate in there. I don’t usually enjoy it, but apparently I don’t mind the way Kusmi does it!

Adventaggedon Day 1: Tea 5/7

Snuck this in between a few of the more indulgent tea options from today’s advent selection and that ended up being a good choice because it was bright and citrus-y with a nice playfully grassy green tea and yerba mate base combination. It’s not the type of tea I would generally keep around for myself, but I think it’s a nice twist and that preeetttyyy classic lemon green tea profile and I thought well balanced too!

I skipped this tea a while back. Dry grass and citrus. That’s all I get. I’m totally not into it.

Kusmi Advent Calendar 2020 – Day 5

The sampler size comes in a lovely light blue sky-like sachet. I think the colour of the wrapper fits the tea perfectly! It’s fresh and zingy.

You can instantly feel mate, grassy notes, citrus flavours (grapefruit? lemon?) and a bit of guarana and green tea (but just a hint).

If you need a morning pick-me-up and can’t drink or don’t like black tea for some mysterious reason – it would be a great choice!

I love mate and drink large quantities of it and I have to say, Kusmi did it well. It’s not a boring mate blend, there’s a surprise factor to this lovely mixture. Worth trying!

This is another one of those blends that just isn’t really for me. I don’t usually gravitate towards citrus teas, especially not those on a mate base.
Apparently there’s green tea somewhere in here, but I couldn’t taste it. Definitely has more of a maté/guarana flavor, with some intense lemon citrus.

Kusmi Advent Calendar – Day 5

So this one confused me. Having “morning” in the name, to me, implies black tea or some other sort of breakfasty tea. But then the description said something like “citrus and herbs” which sort of makes me think it’s an herbal tea. But then the plot thickens, as the steeping instructions recommended a temperature of around 175°F, which makes me assume there’s green tea here. Anyway! I followed the recommended parameters so we’ll see. Looking at the sachet, I think there might be maté here as well, as it has that sort of crushed up leaves appearance.

So looking at the description, it’s a blend of green tea, maté, and guarana. So that sort of explains all of the weird conflicting information LOL. I quite like this though! It has a lovely sweet and herbal maté flavor with a hint of smokiness. The green tea has a different sort of dry grassy note and adds a touch of bitterness. I think orange is the main citrus that I taste here, and it’s a lovely sweet orange. I also do get a little hint of sharper grapefruit which adds a nice tang.

I like it! I don’t know if I would order it specifically but I would happily drink it again. I really need to explore getting some plain yerba maté, as I always find myself really enjoying it in blends…
