From Palais des Thés

Native to South Africa, the Aspalathus linearis, or Rooibos bush as it is commonly known, is a different plant from the tea plant, which gives a pleasant beverage with no caffeine and almost no tannin.
Mélange du Cap is a delicious blend of red tea, splinters of cocoa and vanilla pods.

This tea is amazing! It’s so chocolaty, it’s sweet and smooth. And its caffeine-free and has no sugar ! What more could I ask for? I love my flavored, sweet blacks, but I end up drinking a whole pot, and in the evening that is way too much caffeine. This tea is my solution.
It is great with and without milk.

Another one from the tea box! Not since my early days of loose tea have I really sought out chocolate teas, but if one comes my way, I’ll give it a try. With sugar and milk, this makes quite a nice treat. The chocolate is very present, and you can really taste the rooibos as well. It’s silly, but I still prefer the Stash chocolate teas over most loose ones I’ve tried. But this is definitely good for what it is!

TTB #6

Chocolate-flavored teas aren’t usually my thing, but French tea definitely is so I gave this blend a go. What a lovely surprise! The chocolate flavor is sweet and rich and full-bodied with a note of vanilla in the scent and aftertaste. With a bit of milk, this made the perfect bedtime treat. Excited to be adding this one to my collection!

Mmm this is a tasty dessert rooibos. Thank you to VariaTEA for sharing! I coldbrewed this one because I’m too lazy to brew things properly. Instead I dump some looseleaf into a gravity steeper and fill it with water. No strainers, brew times, or water temperatures to worry about.

Red rooibos base, heavy minerals and vanilla, background flavour of carob, raw cocoa, and honey. It is basically a vanilla/honey/cocoa rooibos. The rooibos is very rooibosy, so avoid this one if you don’t prefer rooibos. I think it goes really well, and rooibos always takes flavour well.

This was a delicious cuppa on a cold rainy spring day. The chocolate and vanilla tastes fairly natural and the rooibos base wasn’t overwhelming or too woodsy. If I ever ordered from this company, this would likely make it into the cart.

Wow, look at you go!

Sil

i’ve been working on teas with large quantities forever…they’re finally getting near the end!

Kristal

Yay, that’s awesome! It’s always kinda disappointing in way when you’re making progress but your cupboard # doesn’t show it. It all works out in the end :)

Sil

haha yeah that’s why i weighed my cupboard. I’m getting damn close to the goal i had for the year in weight, so that means i can pick up a few teas! woot woot!

Kristal

Yay! :)

Jillian

I should use that strategy, Sil :D

This tea smells like tootsie rolls, though sweeter. The vanilla and the sweetness of the rooibos are more obvious. It doesn’t become bitter from overbrewing, and has a natural sweetness that tastes even better with the addition of sugar/honey/stevia. It tastes like it smells, both dry and brewed. It was very mellow and I could see myself drinking this at night. I drank this last night, but I think I’ll make some more tonight. I really should consider buying flavored rooibos teas.

The dry rooibos mix is very fragrant,,smells like vanilla marshmallow treat.
Liquor is red colored and has that rooibos scent and flavor. It is sweet with vanilla notes and a touch of honey. It’s very sweet and rooibos tasting.
If you like rooibos, you would like this. I don’t really care for rooibos so I am not a good judge of it.

Thank you Dustin for sharing this with me. It is actually a very nice rooibos tea. The base is present but mostly as a mere stage on which the real chocolate flavors shines. The vanilla also adds a slight sweetness to balance out the rich chocolate taste. Very nice indeed.
