It’s bound to get you eventually. Just like the cold. Covid has stuck our house. But so far only my son and I are positive. I’m praying my husband and and daughter stay negative because we leave for vacation soon. But this brings me to why I am drinking this blend. It is called Natural Defense, seems like a good thing to drink right now. The aroma is sweet and fruity and I love the bag! It’s cute and not full of chemicals. The taste is very soothing. Berries and different fruits. Very soothing.

I made this tea. Then I ate part of a cookie that was so big it was stuffed with an entire krispy kreme cake batter donut, among other things. Then I watched The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Now I’m drinking the tea. The tea is cold but alright. It’s got a natural berry flavor. It’s also not too verbal-tasting despite being a detox tea. I almost always expect to hate detox teas and was even mentally preparing to drink this and pass off the rest of the sample Roswell Strange was kind enough to share – thank you!! Thankfully, I don’t feel like I need to since it’s alright.

The dry sachet smells like Beartrap from David’s Tea Which even though it is a hibiscus heavy tea it remains one of my favorites.
Steeped up the tea is light in color so I don’t anticipate a strong hibiscus flavor luckily. The taste of this tea really made me think I was going crazy. I was convinced that it reminds me of TWO of my favorite DavidsTea Blends. Bear Trap and The Glow? I think it actually reminds me of Bear Trap and Seaberry Spa though.
After I did some ingredient checking. There is a slight resemblance to bear trap in terms of berry flavor. The herbal flavor is mainly what I taste though and I believe reminds me of Seaberry Spa? They both have Sea Buckthorn Berries in them. Anyways I really Like this one and would love to have it in my cupboard. It’s like a cross between some of my favorite tea blends. It’s a nice herbal tea.

Late night cuppa that just really hit the spot. I don’t know why, but in the moment the thought that came to mind was “Cranberry Oatmeal” but realistically I think this is more like a crumble with cranberry/bilberry but less sweet/brown sugar in taste. Love the red fruit note with the hint of tartness, though. It’s perfectly balanced.

Palais des Thés Advent Calendar – Day 13 (from November backlog)

This has a lovely tart fruity scent in the bag, and the steeped aroma is similar. I thought maybe there was hibiscus here, because the liquor also has a pretty pale coral color, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

I was surprised by how mellow and mildly herby this is at first. It’s a bit haylike with a light sweetness. But the berry tartness starts to come out mid-sip, and the end and aftertaste become quite tart with a cranberry-like note. I can taste the elderflower as well, with a soft and subtly sweet floral flavor.

I dig it. I’m not sure I feel strongly enough to order this, as in some regards it sort of tastes like a very mild fruit tisane…

Another tea (infusion rather) of Le Palais des Thés DETOX range I tried last week at the LPDT shop at Tours : I wasn´t impressed when smelling this blend, but the taste is really something else. I´m not sure whether I´d ever tried an infusion of a blend using birch bark before, but this “première” was definitely positive. Also, when drinking this blend, I can imagine sipping it to relax, so its use to “detox” is understandable.
