My husband chose this out of my bag of randoms to try.

Colour: Golden yellow.
Smell: Sweetly floral.

This has a nice flavour that tastes reasonably fresh and floral. Very mellow and slightly sweet, a good all around chamomile tea. This gets stronger and stronger the more you drink of it but I find the flavours still remain the same.
In honesty I am not really a fan of chamomile tea so my low score is just because it’s not to my own personal taste.

This was a nice chamomile that I had hot at breakfast while I was staying at a motel over the weekend. It’s about what you’d expect. No complaints! It’s difficult to rate a tea like this that’s almost by definition not exciting, but also perfectly pleasant.

It wasn’t cardboard like?

gmathis

Chamomile is pretty much the same, no matter what brand you’re drinking. (I guess that’s a plus.)

Martin Bednář

Not always gmathis – I notice great one (Dammnan Freres, which was even fruity) and some tea from Lipton (not chamomile) which was like cardboard.

gmathis

Ah…let revise my statement to “chamomile in the cheap grocery store brands I always buy” is pretty much the same :) Damman Freres, that’s a whole different quality category!

Martin Bednář

Yeah it is different, but I do not understand it. The flowers are same, even when two teas with whole buds and it was still different.
But yeah, grocery store brands will be same :D

LuckyMe

i think a lot of the negative impressions people have about chamomile comes from the crappy bagged tea. The high quality stuff though is completely different. I’ve had some whole chamomile flowers from Rishi and others that are incredibly good. Honeyed and citrusy, not at all cardboard like

AJRimmer

Yeah I feel like I’ve had one or two that were disagreeable, but for the most part, they’re all basically the same. I never buy chamomile, but I always end up having some on my shelf somehow!

The weirdest thing happened while I was drinking this tea. I was sipping on some appley-floral chamomile. Next thing I knew I had a mouthful of wood shavings. Jk. Smelled good and tasted good going in but had a woody aftertaste and was pretty drying after the swallow. I’m sure some honey would take care of that.

My mother bought some of this tea for me in an attempt to buy me a “fancy” tea (she really doesn’t get my tastes in tea), which I appreciate but this is just not that great. Thankfully it was partially saved by adding a lot of honey. I wish I could say exactly what was wrong with it but it was just kind of ..blah.
It’ll do in a pinch, though – so there’s that.

Not a love at first sip but it gradually gets better down the cup.
