Cache-Cache

Wow! This is cool. So many different flavours. My ‘buds are confused haha.
Hot, I could have sworn this was salted caramel. But then as it cooled, a lot of fruit notes emerged. Definitely getting peach, and I think that is lychee? Something malty as well.
Also, in some sips it tastes like what imagine caramel infused with fruit would be like. A little creamy with that perfect touch of sweetness. Oh and the peppercorn comes out in the aftertaste! What fun :)
Too bad this is another sample from my box. But you know what, I don’t mind because I’m getting to know the company better when I do eventually make an order. That and I have so much in my cupboard that I welcome the sipdown!

I opened this just now, and it does smell pretty nice. I thought it smelled like peach and tutti fruiti gum at first, but now it’s reminding me more of fig and these forest berry pastilles that I used to buy from the Fresh Market, so perhaps close to a sweet red wine. It’s quite interesting to look at with the oddly shaped sugar rocks, the flower petals, and the red peppercorn.

Brewed, it smells like apricots. The flavor itself is mild and sweet, with a fruit flavor that’s hard to place. I might need to brew more of the tea leaves to get a stronger fruit taste. It is nice. I was worried about this tea, given it’s mixed reviews, but I think it’s good.

I’m glad I bought the Christmas teas when they were on sale, because these teas are delicious and good for any time of the year.

This is such a weird tea because there is no specific flavor. Rather, it tastes different to different people based on what they pick up in the leaf. For me, I got the sweetness of the sugar and the spice of the peppercorn but somehow the combination came off tasting like stone fruits to me. It was actually really nice and prepped as a latte helped bring out just a tiny but of creamy vanilla. It will be interesting to see what happens as this is prepped different ways.

I am really, really bad at keeping my cupboard up to date, so that’s on my to do list this weekend. I just took care of deleting ones that I have gotten rid of, but haven’t added the rest. At least I know my cupboard is getting to a place where I like all of the things, and I’m moving out of that “must try everything” stage.

So, I ordered this recently, partly because I was intrigued at the concept of a tea where people taste different things, and partly because I love their tins. At least I admit it. I’m also on a flavored black kick lately, and sort of in a panic since my Butiki stash is dwindling. I do like Lupicia’s flavored teas so at least there’s that.

Anyway, I liked this even more than I anticipated. It was a definite orange/strawberry tea for me, and that is cracking me up since strawberry isn’t on the list of things in the description. I guess they were right!

this tea is from cavocorax in sachet form. brewed, this is like a fruity, tropical tea that doesn’t really come across as a specific fruit. it smells like peach…tastes a little like mango…it’s a little all over the place. i added a little sugar and it really popped! thanks for the sample cavo!

Another untried Lupicia tea. I find it funny how vague the description of this one is… Definitely intriguing! The black tea leaves themselves are quite pretty – they’re jet black and somewhat light and feathery looking. There are various things mixed in, I can see peppercorns along with flower petals and some of those little rock candy pieces. Dry scent is mostly peach to me, maybe with a few other fruits.

The steeped tea smells of sweet peaches. Taste-wise, that’s pretty much all I’m getting as well. The base tea is fairly strong, but it’s not bitter or astringent. The peach flavor is somewhat mild and sweet. I definitely don’t taste any pepper, which is a good thing in my opinion. Overall, this is just an okay peach-flavored tea.

This is one festive-looking tea! There are pink peppercorns and flower petals in the blend, which has a sweet, mixed-fruit aroma. There’s something about it that seems just right for the winter holidays.

The brewed tea is malty and smooth, with an abundance of fruit flavors—mango, stonefruit, banana, and others all seem to melt together. It’s not overly sweet or artificial, and the black tea base is of good quality. There’s no trace of the peppercorns, but then again, there was only one in this serving! Overall, a solid offering from Lupicia that lifts my spirits on a busy afternoon. Thanks beelicious!

Drank some of this the other day. Notes of blackberry, remember literally nothing else. It was more like the other week…

I was trying this tea while in Steepster Chat and discussing it with Roswell Strange. At first I just got some non-descript fruit flavor from it…melon or lychee maybe? And then Roswell said she tasted peach and now its 100% peach for me. The power of suggestion! haha!

There is also a mild peppery note that sets this apart from other peachy black teas :)

Cold Brew!

Of the three ways I tried Cache Cache (I haven’t written my note for the third yet) this was my least favourite. Not that it tasted bad or anything – it was just sort of the simplest of all three ways with a very monotone peach flavour and not much else to round it out/add depth to it. Maybe the black was a little more present than either hot way I had it – but certainly not by much, and a more present black base didn’t bring anything else immediately to mind or change the experience for me.

Flat peach.
