From Mighty Leaf Tea

Orange Dulce black tea is a luscious, rich brew teeming with notes of orange, vanilla and jasmine blossoms. Made with Ceylon and China black teas, Orange Dulce brews up a fragrant and full bodied dark tea. Reminiscent of an aged Port, the flavor is sure to please.

I had a cup of this with lunch this afternoon. I really enjoyed it as a black tea, it was smooth and not at all bitter.
However, I didn’t pick up on the orange as much as I would have liked to. (It may have been that I was drinking it with hummus though, so the hummus probably overpowered the tea like crazy.)

The only other orange tea I’ve had? Tazo. This is immeasurably better.

I was a bit surprised to have fallen in love with this tea. It’s a bit strong without the bitter taste, with undertones of vanilla. A true treat.

This was part of a tea sampler Christmas gift that I received today. Yay tea! My caffeine problems normally keep me from drinking black tea but I’m gearing up for a long night of festivities. This smells yummy. Orange and sweet. Just tastes like black tea until I add milk and sugar which transforms it into a dreamsicle.

So I have tried this tea twice once black and once with 1 sugar and milk and both times I found the tea odd. There is a strange flavor to the tea almost as if the orange flavor and vanilla notes are competing with each other and makes the tea very off putting. Humpf and I was looking forward to a nice cuppa.

I had this one yesterday at a friends while playing board games. Not a bad bagged tea – creamy vanilla orange…wish is was a little more creamsicle orange but overall a decent cup.

VariaTEA

I have seen multiple positive reviews for this tea in the past couple of days so when I was at Pickle Barrel for dinner tonight I noticed it on their menu and when I tried ordering it to test it out, it stressed out the waiter, took like 3 minutes to explain to him, and they didn’t end up having it anyways. So much for trying new things :P

Sil

sill you trying to order tea at pickle barrel :)

Sami Kelsh

I rarely attempt to order tea at restaurants – but now I miss the Pickle Barrel.

VariaTEA

I figured it was bagged teas so they would bring me hot water and I’d make it myself.

OMGsrsly

Isn’t that usually how restaurant tea is done, VariaTEA? Or do some places make it and bring it out for you?

VariaTEA

I know some places that throw the bag in and bring it to you and you have no clue how long its been in there. Usually I don’t order tea at restaurants but I was curious about the Orange Dulce given the reviews and figured it was there to try so it was a easy means of getting a hold of it. Turns out it wasn’t so easy.

You might be able to pick up a box of assorted MLTs at Sobey’s. That is where I first discovered the brand. They are packaged really well, so it’s not a bad way to get to know their teas.

Kristal

I don’t mind getting tea at restaurants if it’s herbal, then it usually doesn’t matter to me how long its been sitting. Other than that, I always pack stuff in my timolino.

OMGsrsly

I don’t usually order tea at a restaurant, so I haven’t experienced the tea bag being put into the water already…

Today I came across boxes of assorted ML teas in a health food store. Not as hard to find as I had thought apparently.

This one delivers—when I am in the mood for a punchy black base with orange notes carried on intense vanilla. It reminds me of some of the Cream of Earl Grey teas out there, but, to my taste, way better than most of the competition.

I really enjoy this one when I have a taste for it. I don’t often crave this tea, but when I do, there’s just nothing like it. This will always have a place in my tea cupboard, even if it is only a few teabag packets. MLT packages the individual tea bags nicely, and the scent and flavours last forever.

I now have a headache from drinking four cups of this strongly perfumed strong tea. No wonder I can only drink it every few months. I am taking my rating down a notch.

i might not want to mess with this tea then :/

Another tea sent to me by my Secret Pumpkin. I really like this one! It has a nice orange flavor, but a creamy orange, almost like those old push up ice cream treats we used to get as kids. (can you tell I have a hint of my sense of smell today? It’s not super strong, but it’s present enough for me to taste some things)

Anyway. I realloy like this one. I might have to add this to my wish list.

I got this as a bonus sample in a Birchbox order. Makeup and tea? Pretty much my favorite things ever. I like this brand as a teabag option, they might even be my favorite. This is strong, a bit sweet, and is very forgiving to a bit of oversteeping. It is mostly orange with just a hint of dessert-y vanilla. I would definitely repurchase this.

I got a pack of samples from Mighty Leaf with a recent order from a different company. I’ve gotten packs like this before, so I was expecting the same flavors, but they’re all new to me! I’m excited to try them all.

This one wouldn’t necessarily be my first choice, because orange teas aren’t my thing, but vanilla and jasmine very much are. Also, I’ve gotten hooked on having at least one cup of black tea in a morning. The orange in this is soft, not bitter at all, and it blends well with the vanilla. The jasmine is a scent more than a flavor here, but there is a little bit of a floral aftertaste, and the overall effect is a taste similar to the way vanilla extract smells. I like it much more than I expected.
