A sipsby pick from this month, and a disappointing one at that. I love a good, spicy chai and having an option with extra caffeine was exciting to me.
I don’t get much chai from this at all. There’s a hint of spice that’s almost entirely overpowered by moringa. I can see this working for someone who likes more subtle flavors in their tea, but it isn’t for me.

Sipdown! (34)

There were four teabags of this in my January Sips by box. Hopefully since I changed my tastes preferences, they won’t give me chai every month anymore…

I drank the first two bags earlier today and figured I would just finish the remaining ones off tonight in one of my recently purchased larger teacups. In the cup earlier I didn’t notice much bitterness, but I am getting some in this cup. I don’t think it’s coming from the tea, likely from the moringa as it has a slightly different bitter flavor. I am getting a tinge of algae-like green flavor as well, which I assume is also from the moringa.

Otherwise, it’s a relatively mild and generic chai with notes of clove, cardamom, and cinnamon, and a hint of black pepper warmth. It would be nice enough, but the moringa bitterness is sort of ruining this cup for me.

Wow, is this strong. Made this instead of a cup of coffee and it’s a worthy substitute! Not sure if I would order more, but it was a decent and energizing chai!

I received this in my SipyBy box this month and couldn’t wait to try it. I’m a bit burnt out on chaos after fall, but I love moringa. I was very pleasantly surprised by the balance of spices- cinnamon, cardamom, and ginger are balanced very well. This definitely gave me a boost of caffeine, and none of the jitters I get from coffee. I always welcome the addition of moringa, it’s one of y favorite ‘superfoods.’ It seems Miracle Tree also has some straight moringa+flavoring blends that I’m very excited to try with my SipsBy code.
