Formosa oolong is a darker style oolong tea from Taiwan, which was formerly known as Formosa. This tea has a fruity component to its flavor, which makes it stand out from Chinese oolong tea. This is due to the plant creating a compound to protect itself from insect attack. This compound imparts a peachy aroma to the flavor of the tea. This is an excellent tea that serves as a great introduction to teas grown in Taiwan.
