From Mrs Doyle's Tea

Ingredients: Chamomile flowers, lemon balm, rose petals and lavender

Mrs Doyle has sometimes had a few sleepless nights coming down after partying and what with mending the roof, she’s always on the go. So when she discovered this special brew around 4am one morning she knew she definitely had a better chance of a good nights sleep. It’s all natural ingredients, hand blended by Mrs Doyle’s lovely girls.

Use freshly boiled water and 1 teaspoon full per person. Brew for 3-5 minutes.

It takes something special for me to willingly drink pure herbal teas and tonight I’m going to give this a go. I really need some sleep, just one night of pure, solid sleep. At this point I will try anything.

This blend claims to contain: Chamomile flowers, lemon balm, rose petals and lavender. I can see in the mixture that the ingredients range from being herbal crumbs to large rose and chamomile flowers. The blend as a whole smells strongly of lavender and lemon with the other ingredients blending in too much to define.

Once steeped this tea is golden brown in colour and has a strong and sweet lavender aroma.

Flavour is sweet and rather delicate with dominant lavender and lemon balm tones. I believe the rose and chamomile keep this blend sweet and light sp while I cannot taste them per say I still know they are there. It’s also fresher than I was expecting. As it cools it also becomes creamy and more honeyed.

Overall it’s a nice blend, very inoffensive and definitely a suitable night time drink. I think I have another pot or two worth of this tea so I may also try this tomorrow night. Hopefully this will send me to sleep and cure my insomnia. I can dream…..oh wait…….
