Well, this is old but still delicious. It’s been sealed in a tin all this while, but hasn’t been in the freezer so I was a bit worried. Made this as a cold latte for the first time. 16 oz milk, bunch of ice cubes, 1 tsp of raspberry matcha and blend! I think I may have overblended it because it’s so very smooth and I’m fond of the smoothie feeling but I think that would take more ice and less frenetic blending. I have a Vitamix so it’s easy to turn everything into a very smooth liquid or paste.

This is still delicious. I might try adding some frozen raspberries to it next time since I believe I have some in my freezer. I’ve added them to other matcha lattes (cold) but I never managed to add the right amount of sugar for me and this time I did. 2.5 spoonfuls of my flat sugar spoon. Don’t ask me the measure of that in real life, it’s a cute little (old) sugar container about the size of my fist and the cute little sugar spoon.

Anyway, I need to start making more of these in the future, but not today because I just used up all of my milk. Unless I want to start experimenting with vanilla soy milk, I suppose. There’s an idea.

Shout out to Starfevre for this sample.

My exact text to my girlfriend upon receiving the package of samples that Starfevre sent read as follows: “Holy goodness moly this freaking matcha smells so good my dear Lord.”
That also about sums up how excited I am about trying matcha.
I only have vanilla almond milk, and contemplated getting normal milk so I can get a better idea of the flavor, but this blends so nicely. It’s so tasty! I was expecting some horrible mistake made on my part to take place, making the latte taste terrible, but it was simple to do and tastes great. I’m really excited to dig into the rest of these samples.

Can’t wait to start my own matcha collection as well.

Raspberries are my favorite fruit, hands-down. My grandmother used to have the most gorgeous raspberry plants in her backyard, and they would bear fruit for ages. Seriously, my mother’s birthday is in October and every year my grandmother would make her an angel food cake with fresh raspberry icing. I get my love of raspberries from my mom. But raspberry teas…they fall short for me, they tend to taste artificial and like raspberry candy. Don’t get me wrong, raspberry candy has its place, but I crave real raspberry flavor, I want a tea that tastes like I just ate the juiciest raspberry I’ve ever gotten my hands on. But I haven’t found that yet, which is why I was so excited to try this tea. Red Leaf Tea only uses natural flavoring in their matchas, so I’m really hoping that results in a natural raspberry taste. It also makes me really happy to see a company willing to refuse to use artificial flavoring.

Oh my goodness, this smells amazing. Red juicy raspberries, guh. So much love. I am so making this into an iced tea with summer with real raspberries in it. It doesn’t taste exactly like raspberries, but it’s darn close! Oh man it’s good. I need to try this iced. I will have a long, happy relationship with this this coming summer. It tastes purple. I don’t know why, it just does, in a really awesome way. I recently ordered a new travel mug in a “raspberry swirl” color, and this tea tastes the way I imagine that color would taste if it had a flavor….okay, now I’m just getting weird.

I am in love with matcha and I am in love with this particular one (found here:http://www.redleaftea.com/matcha-tea/raspberry-matcha.html). If you’re a fan of berries at all or raspberries in particular, then you need to try this matcha. I’m very eager to try this mixed together with one of my vanillas and make a raspberries and cream little beauty. Or cook with it! I get none of the matcha bitterness I’m used to, which is very nice. I did add sugar, I always add sugar to every tea I drink, otherwise the only tasting notes I would have would be “Tastes like tea. Needs sugar.” Ah well, as far as addictions go, it’s not the worst. I like to fool myself into thinking the goodness of the matcha outweighs the badness of the sugar, but I know I’m crazy. I might order some of Red Leaf Tea’s Sugar Destroyer matcha, just to see if blending that eliminates my need to oversugar my matchas.

Definitely going for this one next time! mmm iced matcha. I find I’m sugaring mine up quite a lot as well, also curious about the sugar destroyer.. hmm

This morning has been interesting… I’m attempting to make a raw tomato bread and my blender wasn’t big enough to hold all of the ingredients so I had to get creative and blend everything separate. Ugh. Let’s hope it turns out.
I needed something to relax with and for me matcha is as relaxing as it gets. I love sipping out of my little bowl :] This smells amazing! It’s more of a raspberry candy smell though, like most of Red Leaf’s fruit matchas. The flavor is light and sweet. To me the raspberry is very juicy and natural tasting. Very nice :] The sweetness of the fruit blends so well with the matcha. MMMmmm :]

This kind of tastes like Swedish Berries. The raspberry flavour is sweet, creamy, characteristically raspberry. I do find the green base used is bitter, but can be rounded out with milk.

Another matcha thanks to the wonderful Sil! Raspberry has always been my favourite berry ever since I was a little kid. I have fond memories or being 3-4 years old, spending time with my grandma in her garden picking raspberries off the bush. Then I’d watch her make the greatest raspberry jam ever, with barely any sugar, just enough to preserve it, so it was so tart and packed full of flavour.

As with the other fruity matchas, the flavouring here is on the artificial side. It reminds me of McCain’s raspberry cocktail, at least the stuff they made fifteen years ago. I blended this with coconut milk and frozen raspberries, plus tried it hot, and the former won over in the end.

I’m learning with these fruity matchas that if I do want something fruity combined with matcha, since I tend to prefer matcha cold anyway, the best is to create a matcha smoothie with real fruit and plain or vanilla matcha.

My first order from redleaftea.com and absolutely love this. Nice raspberry flavor that isn’t overwhelming or too strong. I bought the imperial grade organic matcha. It makes a great iced matcha latte and of course, a wonderful hot tea. It’s one of the best quality matchas I’ve had this side of a Japanese tea ceremony. It’s a wonderful blend of the matcha and raspberry with a very distinct taste and flavor. I’ve had others elsewhere that just didn’t match the quality and flavor that redleaftea’s do. They’re just perfect. What I really love about their matcha teas are they’re all natural without any artificial coloring or sweeteners which is perfect for someone like me who watches their blood sugars. I can’t wait to order more matcha from redleaftea.com. I’m absolutely hooked! So do yourself a favor order some of this delicious raspberry matcha tea, you won’t regret it one bit.

This one’s from Sil! It’s not bad at all as long as you like Swedish Berries or raspberry candies (jelly belly or Hasbro gummies). I do like those things, so this didn’t last long.

Haha! So not so raspberry au naturel?

Sil

courtney..nope not in my opinion either.. i dont like it

Courtney

Good to know haha. I’m always looking for the natural tasting ones.

Crowkettle

Yeah, not so much. The closest it comes is raspberry jam, but that’s a bit of a stretch.

Fjellrev

I tried it but haven’t reviewed it yet. Yeah, I personally find it artificial. Crowkettle, how many cups did you get out of it?

Crowkettle

There were 3 scoops but I threw it all in one big two portion smoothie. It was very concentrated and left a sugary aftertaste for a good hour.

Fjellrev

Holy crap, no wonder! Because I was like daaaaamn, there were around four servings worth in there. It must have been concentrated, indeed.

Crowkettle

I’m just super classy when it comes to matcha prep.. I used to be conservative with the portions, and still am with the warm lattes, but tend to go all in with the milkshakes and morning smoothies.

This is a distinctive level matcha. It appears that raspberry just isn’t a doable flavour for me when it comes to redleaf. There’s an underlying artificial presence to the raspberry that i can’t get past. It’s not there for strawberry or some of the other berry flavours but with raspberry, it’s all i focus on. Oh well, lots of other flavours i love from Redleaf!
