A tea containing asparagus! A random find in my boxes today while I was looking for something to brew up for my husband (he feels a cold coming on, again. Will it ever end?!) I can’t recall if I purchased this tea myself (it is made locally, with local asparagus, and it was unopened, so it’s possible? I honestly do not recall.)

In addition to asparagus and green tea, (and pau d’arco, whatever that is?), this tea is spiced with ginger/cinnamon/cloves/pepper/coriander/anise/cardamom/orange peel/calendula/vanilla. So I had an expectation of somewhat chai-ish flavours, which it does have, but they are nice and light, with orange and vanilla more prominent than the rest. It’s actually much tastier than I was anticipating (might be slightly regretting using a bunch up on my husband!) I can’t taste the asparagus at all, not that I expected to, but I also feel like green tea is the right choice to blend with it, since they can share similar vegetal profiles. Overall, a fun tea to have tried!

Have mercy! Sounds like somebody just needed to clean out the spice cabinet ;)
