This was my second time trying it. Poured my first cup out of the pot after 5min 30sec, and the average time between cups was about 13 minutes after that, especially since some things came up. 1 pot was about 11 of my little cups, and the pot took about 2 hours to drink all of.

At the beginning, the pepper was the most noticeable thing, but the berries and flowers did become stronger after a couple cups. The 6th cup was sort of weird, but the flavors started blending and getting along after that. After a while, I started noticing the floral tastes more and, after a while longer, I noticed the pepper more again. As with any pot of loose tea I have, the last little partial-cup was bitter, but the rest was yummy. Definitely different. When the pepper is in the foreground, it’s not sweet, but it gets sweeter as it tastes more floral. As with any tea, your mileage may vary, but I did find that I liked it the second time I tried it.

I have a weird “moon” thing – got into moon artwork, jewerly, and names in my twenties. I naturally gravitate toward any “cool moon” names with teas. Strangely most are disappointments – I need to find some staple moon teas that I adore!

This one is good, drinkable, and floral. Not a top favorite but will definitely be able to finish it off. Blueberries come through as Violet and there’s almost that small undertone I associate with Chai that is made without milk and as a straight tea - almost a colored pencil underlayering.

I do like it. Don’t get a pepper, unless that’s what is causing the other tastes.

I need to also find a Full moon, Wolf Moon, and New Moon Blend I adore -- sadly this is harder to do than my strange, dorky heart requires.

Sipdown no. 7 of May 2019 (no. 69 of 2019 total, no. 557 grand total).

I tried this again hot, and it was ok, but I think I was probably more generous in my rating way back when than I should have been. Then I made the rest of it cold. Cold, it’s rather nondescript.

In my original note I said it lacked oomph and intricacy. Yeah, that’s right. Then I said it made up for that with its pleasant unusualness.

I’m not sure I would have said that if I tried it the first time now. In general, my patience with tea that isn’t stellar is rather more thin now than it was back then when I was still discovering what I liked.

Bumping down the rating.

The first thing I notice is the berry/floral sweetness. Not really so much the pepper, but maybe that’s because the peppercorns are whole and not much of their flavor is coming through. I guess that’s what that little something is in the background though. Kind of smoky/musty/I don’t know.

It’s an interesting tea. I can’t tell right away what kind of berry it’s supposed to taste like other than that this is berry-flavored, but it’s definitely good.
