From Spicely Organics

This chocolaty jasmine flower and green tea blend has a lingering effect . The gentle jasmine flowers add a hint of relaxation to the invigorating combination of antioxidant-rich green tea and cacao nibs.

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this. I normally don’t like chocolate teas because they have this sort of “wisp” of chocolate that makes me just wish it were the real thing. But the base tea is very rich and nutty and gives the chocolate a little thickness that makes it not taste watery at all. The jasmine is very present as well, and it all works together. I really really enjoyed this.

Backlog:

I really, really liked this. I didn’t know quite what to expect from it … I mean, I love Jasmine as some of you are probably aware, and I LOVE chocolate (I’ve never really made any secret of my chocoholicism have I?) But these were two flavors that I wasn’t too sure about combining.

But it works! And I think it works because of the Hojicha base. The roasty-toasty, nutty flavors of the hojicha meld beautifully with both the jasmine and the chocolate notes. The jasmine here is subtle, it is more of a background note, but it does add some interest and dimension to the cup.

Here’s my full-length review: http://sororiteasisters.com/2014/02/25/organic-jasmine-cacao-green-tea-from-spicely-organics/ This one is so interesting and different … if you’re one who appreciates those kinds of teas – you really should try this one!

Jasmine cocoa? Fascinating flavor combination.
