From Stash Tea

Enjoy all the refreshing, minty flavor of a mojito in this uniquely appealing tea. All of the island flavor is here (minus the alcohol) plus Matcha, the exceptional Japanese green tea used in the traditional tea ceremony. Natural lime flavor accents the tea with just the right zesty flair. Makes a delicious iced tea.

Ingredients: green tea, peppermint, lime flavor and Japanese matcha

Bagged Bonanza Tea #2 for today!
Thanks, Muppetlove

I thought I have tried and reviewed this in the past but now I am 2nd guessing myself.

Music while infusing this – Don’t You Forget About Me – I NEVER get sick of this song!

I’m not going to lie…I DO like the Mint and Lime Combo! It’s close to a Mojito aroma, yes.

I can taste the powdery texture of the matcha seeping thru the bag. It’s not really a wonderful Matcha-taste but it is recognizable as such. The Mint and Lime unify into one single flavor to create a new flavor of its own, I guess. I’m ok with that. It IS limy and minty but in a hybrid sort of way.

This is different yet satisfying. Not too shabby at all :)

CupofTree

great song :) mint and lime sound pretty interesting actually.

This DOES get mintier as the steeped cuppa is exposed to room temp air. Since I’m a MINT FREAK I’m going to give it a few more points :)

Sil

oooh this one sounds tasty!

This was the tea I had hoped to use for a mojito, a recipe I found on the Stash blog: http://www.stashtea.com/info/Green_Tea_Mojito I’ll need to order it sometime.

I thought I would try to make a tea mojito cocktail. I steeped this in rum overnight. I added sugar and club soda. It turned out ok. Not genuine mojito but a good enough tea version. It could have used a bit of fresh lime.

Someone left a bag of this at work for me to try. The hint of lime with the mint flavor is kind of interesting. I might try adding a little lime to my next batch of moroccan mint, see how that turns out. Though this seems to sacrifice some mint in search of lime… and less mint is always less bueno, Mr. Mojito!

This tea is more mint than anything else.

The scent is powerfully minty, with hints of island zest, which intrigued me, as mojitos are a drink of choice for me.

Alas, the island zest could only go so far as the scent, as the flavor is mainly mint, with some faint green tea.

It’s not bad, but when the name says mojito, I would expect mojito.

I was initially a bit concerned about how “synthetic” the lime and mint flavors would be in this tea, but I needn’t have worried! It tastes wonderfully like a proper mojito. All it’s missing is a little bit of rum! Today’s cup is providing a bit of escape from a difficult writing assignment – one sip and suddenly I’m back on the deck at my favorite beach-side restaurant, enjoying the sun and the breeze with a mojito and a good book!

I’m the first to rate this? How is that possible? I splurged on some teas over on Lucky Vitamin and this was one of them. I knew it would work well! I haven’t drank matcha before, so I’m not sure how it compares. I wish there was more of a lime flavor and less of a peppermint (actually I think spearmint would have been a bit better than the peppermint as peppermint isn’t my favorite) but I can drink this the way it is. Good stuff!

Note to self: Make a blended matcha mojito this summer!

Very minty and refreshing but the mojito component is mostly in the smell of the tea as opposed to the taste. Could probably do with a dash of lime.

Backlog:

I smelled the mint immediately. I could also smell traces of lime. It’s a pleasantly fragrant tea.

The combination of lime and peppermint is enjoyable. The green tea isn’t overwhelmed: I taste the green tea, I taste the notes of lime and the crisp peppermint notes. I also taste the hint of matcha which does more to the texture than the actual taste of the cup. It offers a nice hint of “creamy” to the texture.

Even though the mint is the strongest flavor of the cup, I think that the lime is the real star because it really brightens up the cup. It’s very vibrant – nice for a bagged tea.

I didn’t really notice much of a lime flavor, but that may be because it melded together with the mint. I once tried adding a squeeze of lime juice, and it didn’t really add much except a slight sour note that didn’t really belong there.

Drinking it regularly, however, is rather enjoyable. This is currently my go-to blend if I want something minty to drink.
