Hoshino-mura is a small village in Fukuoka prefecture that is home to Japan’s finest shaded teas, including this year’s national prize winning Gyokuro. Miyama Kabuse is shaded for ten days prior to picking; a process which boosts levels of theanine, an amino acid responsible for imbuing the tea with a deep, rich flavor.
