Look what else I found in my work stash! I thought it was gone because it hasn’t been part of my home stash for a while. Turns out I have a few bags left.

I concluded a while back that while they were neck and neck for a while, I prefer the Berryblossom White to this. I find the flavoring of that one a bit more subtle, and the vanilla in this one somewhat more pronounced and the apricot somewhat less pronounced than they should be. Still, it’s pleasant enough for an afternoon at the office.

I used to really love this tea!
Drinking a cup of this is a little bit nostalgic for me, & I still love the way it smells when you open the bag.

Ysaurella

vanilla and apricot on a white tea base sounds like a great idea!

For a bagged tea, it is quite nice, but the main feature really is the aroma, it is heavenly :)

MsWhatsit

I agree about the aroma. It makes a pretty good cold brew as well.

Much better than I expected for a bagged tea. When I opened the paper envelope, the scent of dried apricots came rushing out. Once brewed, the flavor is light, but I could definitely taste a creamy sort of apricot. (It was definitely apricot, not peach. There was a pleasant tartness that peaches just don’t have.) I would definitely drink this again.

Really yummy iced! Finally got a REAL package of this tea after the previous fiasco. When I brewed a cup hot it was too light for me to taste any of the vanilla or the apricot. Now that it’s been cold brewed I can taste the apricot, but still no vanilla. It’s enjoyable, but doesn’t do what it “says on the tin” :)

Ashley Bain

haha. did you open up and check the package this time before buying?

i caught this at target on clearance (i think because tazo redesigned their boxes). i was very excited given that i like apricot and vanilla. i tried it iced first (as per the box instructions) and it was ultra bitter. poured it out and tried it again hot for 3 mins (as per the box instructions) and it was still bitter. i tried it one more time for only 2 minutes because thats what i brew my loose white teas at; still bitter. also, the temp i used the whole time was the white tea setting. i am really sad, i wanted to LOVE this tea

I’ve never been too impressed with any Tazo tea I’ve had. It’s like they try TOO hard.

I was pretty excited to try this tea as I haven’t had a lot of chances to try white teas. But the outcome of this was severely disappointing. No matter the steep time or temperature used, this brew always ended up bitter. Adding honey or sugar did not help much and didn’t blend well with the flavor of the tea. I really wish I had something nice to say about this tea but it has to be the most disappointing tea I’ve bought.

I JUST HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. and now im sad =(

Tamm

Yup! It’s a pretty sad tea. I actually have no idea what happened to it because it isn’t in my cupboard anymore and I don’t know where it went…

Thinking this would be a very forgiving tea, I selected Vanilla Apricot White. Since I was at a New Year’s party, I didn’t have much control over water temperature and brewing time. This turned out to be a delight. Neither the vanilla nor the apricot flavors were overbearing – just a light refreshing delicate white tea that went well with the abundance of food being served.

I have no blessed idea what temperature I actually used to brew this tea. I am actively stalking the Breville Tea Maker to remedy this, but I think I’ll need to wait another month before I shell out the$250 bones. I used the setting just below green on my electric kettle.

Apricots, in my mind, are sweet, sensitive little creatures. In reality, they’re more acrid. The scent of this tea is accurate in that way – it disappoints my sentimental mind. The taste was similar. Nothing but astringency in my first unsweetened sips. A teaspoon of organic honey helped to bring out the vanilla a bit, and it toned down the bite.

I see that other folks are enjoying this tea quite a lot, so I’ll give it another shot – maybe iced next time.

I have no idea whether Tazo still makes Vanilla Apricot White, but I found an errant filterbag in my “maybe I’ll drink this someday” tea chest of stray envelopes without boxes. I don’t recall ever having purchased or consumed this tea, so perhaps I received it as a free sample somewhere…

The tea offers a light apricot flavor, and that’s about it. I don’t detect much in the way of vanilla. It’s possible that this bag is so old that the vanilla evaporated away, but the brewed liquor, which is a lovely peach color, tastes fine—not stale. It just tastes like apricot, not really much else. On the bag it is described as “a delicate tea”, and I’d have to agree.

I’ve never tried white tea before but I couldn’t resist the “vanilla apricot” flavor. However, I was disappointed because it does have a slight bitter taste. The only good thing is that the flavoring does not taste artificial.
