From Tazo

A rich blend of teas and spices (dark Indian black teas, ginger, cinnamon, star anise, cloves, and cardamom) in the style of the hill dwellers of the Himalayas. Mix with milk (or a dairy substitute) for a delicious hot or cold beverage.

Pretty good Chai for simple, bagged stock that you can get at Wal-Mart for goodness sakes! Having said that, it’s nothing compared to my favorite loose leaf Masala Chai or even World Market’s Masala Chai in terms of sheer strength of spices. And after all, in my opinion, that’s one of the main things I’m coming to a Chai tea to taste. Still, I keep it “in stock” at my house for travel or if I’m visiting company that won’t have any tea equipment etc.

I really enjoyed it, but wish it had stronger spices in it.

I really need to leave some tea for sipdowns at the’s boyfriend’s place. I always end up drinking this one since it’s the only one he has that I can drink (mostly he has berg infested ones)
Not that its a bad tea, and I’m not over that often. I’m just annoyed that drinking this one takes away from lowering my stash at home!!! sighs
Crap. One of the kids just saw me say I’m at the “boyfriend’s”. Eeeps!

I must add my voice to those who have already stated that this tea has way too much ginger and black pepper. Just know that black pepper is my favorite flavor of chips, and ginger chicken is my favorite dish (I actually prefer to have more ginger than chicken in my ginger chicken). In order for me to say, “Whoa” on ginger and black pepper, it has to be undrinkably strong, which it is.

Why am I giving this tea such a high rating? Because it makes the most delicious chai latte I have ever tasted. So many other chai teas lose their flavor when buried under a hot mess of frothy milk. Tazo’s chai is actually improved when diluted. If you are looking to drink this as a straight chai, you might be very disappointed. If you plan on dumping a bunch of frothy milk and adding a dusting of cinnamon on top, you’ll likely be delighted.

Another random chai I found in my cupboard.

Didn’t like this, even after adding milk and sugar… could be the anise in it. It tasted too much like licorice for me and not enough spice!

After being disappointed by the last Tazo tea I drank, I hesitantly purchased this chai. Now, Chai is one of my most beloved teas and I am very critical when it comes to this drink. However, I made this tea as I would my organic masala chai loose leaf and it turned out fairly well. It’s no where near as strong as I like (I feel like I would need 2 bags instead of one) but it’s also no where near as disappointing as the last Tazo tea (Passion). I may hesitate to buy it again, though, unless I can’t get to my usual guy.

I should have checked steepster before getting this at Starbucks. Luckily I get free hot tea thru their gold program cause I would be miffed. Its not terrible, just so anise infused and scented that its hard to cope with. Not doing this again but I will probably finish the cup.

Not bad for a chai, but not the best. I’m realizing that it’s better to just get the masala and add your own teabag to it. I think the trick with chai is to really let the spices brew for a long time, which you can’t do when there’s black tea mixed in. This one isn’t bad, and it’s fine black (also fine with milk and sugar), but I’m going to finish up my current box of it and that’ll be it. If you’re looking for a quick, easy chai, this one would do it.
