August is exciting not only for summer vacations but wonderful herb variety at the greenmarket. From our favorite greenmarket stands, we conceived three exquisite oolong tea blends highlighting our invigorating finds: lemon basil, lemon thyme, and lavender leaf. In small samples of each we are thrilled to bring you a taste of our creations.
Without a doubt, oolong varietals are carefully selected to highlight the herbs’ vivid aroma.
Lemon basil is bright and fresh on the nose, a natural compliment to the delicate and vegetal Mountain Range oolong.
Carrying the same crisp lemony flavor, lemon thyme has a subtle earthiness that balances its aromatic profile. In this case, we chose Royal Courtesan oolong’s luscious muscat grape and toasted nectar for added richness and depth.
Lavender leaf’s seemingly subordinate position to its flowery counterpart is only in popularity. The aroma of lavender leaf is wonderful in its own right. Its perfume is gentle and herbaceous, creating dynamic dialog with Oriental Beauty oolong’s coppery wood chips and sweet muscat grapes.
To pay tribute to New York City’s greenmarket, we named this collection the Greenmarket Blend.
