This is a fairly mild Chai, the black tea base is pleasantly smooth but not particularly strong. Not very astringent. The spices are not particularly strong either (which is why I say it’s a fairly mild chai) but I can taste the cardamom in particular, as well as notes from the ginger and cinnamon. In the aftertaste I can taste the black pepper, which I like.

This is a good chai but not a great chai… but I still enjoyed it and am glad I had the opportunity to try it.

Really mild for a chai. Not strong or astringent. Not bad for a bagged – or in this case a silk pyramid – chai offering.

Tea Spree sells their offerings in little silken pyramids. This particular chai offering contains organic black tea, ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, clove and black pepper. The spice load is dominated by cinnamon and cardamom and the spice load is very mild. The black tea base is of a decent quality—-rather smooth and without bitterness. However, this one is too mild and cannot defend itself in milk. This one would be good for those that like a mild chai and do not drink their chai with any dairy. The only reason it is getting as high a mark as it is would be due to the tea base.
