From Teabox

This tea is chock-full of flavor and aroma in the manner of an oolong! The dry leaf is shockingly reminiscent of wine and roses tasting almost like a dessert wine or aperitif. The infusion is bright and attractive with a luminous coppery appearance, as well as reddish blush and greenish accents. It is one of those autumnal Darjeelings that is satisfyingly full of tannins but without any noticeable bitterness. This is a tea-lover’s tea for sure.

Okay, I’m trying this again by correcting the brewing parameters I tried last time.

Brewed at 194˚F for 4:00 in about 7oz of water. At 4:00 the astringency is a little improved, though there is still a lot of dryness on my tongue. At this point I’m wondering if it’s something genetic that’s wrong with me, so I’d still advise you to sample this tea if you’re interested. For me, I’ll stick to my Chinese oolongs and Taiwanese 18.

Described as an oolong but brewed as a black – whatever one calls it, it is a lovely tea. First brew is tangy like a FF Darj, with noticeable tannins. Later brews produce softer tannins, and a bit sweetness, similar to a muted Ceylon.

First infusion – 3 g. per 8 oz water, 90 deg., 2:00 min.

Second infusion – 3 g. per 8 oz. water, 90 deg., 4:00 min.

Third infusion – 3 g. per 8 oz. water, 90 deg., 10:00+ min.
