From Teabox

A full bodied, malty tea with all the hallmarks of a classic Assam black tea. The aroma carries distinct notes of malt, cocoa and honey; almost inviting you for a quick sip.
The same follows through in its taste, although with more pronounced malty notes. Its finish is long, smooth and sweet – making it an ideal pick for breakfast tea.

Okay I keep coming back to this tea and brewed at around 88˚C and it’s still fantastic (with no milk or sugar). It’s a little bland when you add milk, so best drunk plain.

Increasing rating to 84 and I might purchase a full size of this!

Dry leaf is small dark brown curls with some golden tips and lots of gold dust. Smells amazing – this is the kind of tea I’d buy just for the smell – chocolate, caramel, honey, booze.

Steeped leaf brown, pieces, smells more earthy, loamy.

Taste is rich, stewed fruits, malt, cocoa. A bit more bitter and astringent than I wanted. Thick, heavy body. Hint of floral on the back of the tongue.

A lovely, complex Assam. I need to try a shorter steep to see if I can get rid of some of the bitterness. Otherwise, maybe milk and sugar next time.
