From TeaGschwendner

It is difficult to resist the call of spicy-sweet coriander and juicy, fall apples. A mellow Indian green tea makes the perfect match for this delicious treat.

Ingredients: Green tea from India, apple pieces, coriander and flavor.

Preparation: One heaping teaspoon per 8oz cup of filtered water, boiled and cooled for approximately 10 minutes to 70°C/158°F. Allow to brew 2 minutes.

I was surprised at how low the recommended water temperature for this tea was on the package. I understand the importance of not scalding a green tea, but usually I only brew gyokuros at such a low temp.

I like the idea of apple and coriander flavoured tea. Coriander is something I like using in cooking, either in the form of seeds or in the form of leaves (cilantro). Unfortunately, I found it tasted rather weak with the apple and coriander flavours quite faint. I think the low temperature is at least partially responsible, so I’m not going to rate this tea until I adjust the steeping parameters.

I got this as my free sample with my order. This is the first tea from TeaG I am not into. I wasn’t into the Elderflower one, but it tasted like Elderflower! This one is suppose to taste like apples and coriander, and it’s so faint. It has a faint green apple taste, that I wouldn’t have picked up without being told there’s apple in it. Though when cooled down, the apple came through the fog! If you love granny smith raw, then this is for you. I personally don’t like granny smith unless baked or in chicken salad or soup.

The green in this blend isn’t standing up. I have one more teaspoon in my sample, I will try brewing a little longer. I don’t think lowering the temp of the water will help, but I might do that. Just not a fan.

I was a bit surprised by those who said that the apple was faint. I liked it precisely because it did not overtake the tea itself, which was very well rounded, slightly fruity and a bit astringent. The coriander made a nice grace note to the apple, and the aroma was heavenly from beginning to end. My wife also liked this tea very much. Glad to have it in my cupboard. It will be a very nice addition.
