From Tealux

One of the Best Ten Chinese Teas

This is a rare Long Jing with strongest Chaqi from an abandoned tea field for over 30 years. It is directly purchased from the local tea farmer in the high mountain over 1300 meters high.

Picked only one time per year and never cut down the branches, plus the natural good environment, this wild-growing Long Jing enjoys the strongest Chaqi among other Long Jing, which can also be told by its big, fat buds than other Long Jing.

Imperial Long Jing appellation shows through in every aspect of the tea: brilliant green leaf buds, fresh floral aroma with hints of watermelon and spring grass, clear, perfectly smooth liquor with absolutely no astringency.

So I brewed this one up at the same as my David’s sample just to see how much of a difference there would be. I was surprised! The Tealux leaves are bigger and brighter green. The dry aroma smell is sweeter and less vegetal.
Brewed this tea is less vegetal – it’s lighter tasting, with a bit of nuttiness. I’m not getting a bitter aftertaste. I like it, but now need to explore this type of tea a little more.

My friend TheTeaFairy is a wonderful, generous, amazing person. She recently sent me a few samples of green tea. This is a genre that I don’t really know much about. LOL ok she’s trying to lure me away from the dark side.
This past weekend I tried four green tea samples that she sent me. This was my favorite of them. Like I said I don’t know much about green tea, but this tastes like what I think green tea should be. It was light, and tea-like but wasn’t too veggie, and wasn’t too floral. It wasn’t bitter. It was nice. Green tea will never be my favorite, but this was my favorite of the ones she sent me.
