From Teance

Typically reserved for government officials, this top-grade Ban Tian Yao (“Halfway Up Sky”) is a rare and limited varietal from the renowned Wuyi region. Just 10 cm. of soil sits atop soft white Wuyi rock into which the tea roots burrow, drawing nourishment and flavor from minerals other terroirs never touch. Large-leaf twisted and charcoal-baked in the style original to oolong making, this tea is dark and earthy, with distinctive cinnamon notes and a nutty fieriness that set it apart from other Wuyi varietals.

Bold, fruity first infusion, but seems to lose its flavor after just a few steeps.
