From Teavana

Drawing inspiration from a decadent warm Hawaiian chocolate cake, this oolong blend is a luxurious mix of robust cacao, creamy toasted coconut, and ginger spice that satisfies even the strongest sweet tooth. Pink rose petals add romantic icing to this guilt-free treat enticing you to reach for seconds. Have your tea and eat it too! CONTAINS NUTS

Dark chocolate with sweet toasted coconut

How to Prepare:
Use 1 teaspoon of tea per 8oz of water. Heat water to just before boiling (195 degrees/90 degrees Celsius) and steep for 3 minutes. For stronger flavor, use more tea leaves. 2oz of tea equals 25-30 teaspoons.

Ingredients: Oolong tea, coconut chips, roasted mate, carob pieces, flavoring (chocolate, coconut, roasted chestnut, cream), licorice root, rose petals

I’m going to be drinking a lot of old tea…I have a lot of catching up to do…and if it’s not completely awful, I don’t really wanna waste what I spent tons of money on. I already cleared a ton out from when I was moving. Ugh.

I’ve definitely had this for a year before ever opening it. Plus side, it was sealed up in a box of stuff for a Christmas gift set I bought like 75% off so…positives?

It isn’t bad actually. It’s a bit rich for breakfast, I was kind of surprised that it was this decent. I don’t really get coconut, but definitely chocolate and some nuttiness I can’t really identify as a specific nut.

As it cooled, the coconut came out a bit more. I’m happy this isn’t godawful for being old. I do have older. So…that’ll be fun.

I really, really dislike this tea.

The smell and taste remind me of chemicals. Sort of like the smell of the plastic sandals at Walmart.

When I concentrate I can taste chocolate, coconut and maybe a bit of a mocha flavour….but the chemical taste sticks out way too much to me

I took a few sips then dumped it down the sink. I’m really not having much luck with Teavana. I don’t know what I’m going to do with the remaining 45g or whatever I have…

I didn’t love this tea. It came in a gift set I got and it was much more coconut than chocolate (acknowledging that chocolate isn’t always prominent in tea to begin with). I would still give it a decent rating, because if I look past the coconut aftertaste I don’t like, the blend of Oolong and Mate was nice and it seems like a decent quality blend.

This was a generous gift, as I’m leery of trying new teas from teavana, since thier prices are silly high and I don’t want to hate something I spent that much on. I’ve been on a kick about making cold tea in my french press so I can just make it before bed for the morning or when I get home from work for before bed. I decided to try this last night and I was super surpised how good it turned out. I’ve done chocolate teas before, but not anything Oolong, so I was nervous. Its hard to tell how a new tea will turn out with my ‘set it and forget it’ method of tea making lately. But goodness did this turn out well. I can’t say anything for it brewed hot but cold, this is delish and a great way to wake up.

This is one of the BEST chocolate teas that I have tried. The flavors of chocolate, coconut and rose are all nicely balanced. If you use not as much tea, you wont taste all the flavors. I use 3tsp for 8oz. When you first take a sip, you can taste the chocolate right away. If you hold it in your mouth you can pick out the coconut flavor. When you swallow to taste a little bit of the rose and oolong.

This is very sweet and nutty, and I can really taste the coconut. Sadly, I have been less of a fan of coconut in teas lately. Recommended for those who enjoy a more desserty cup than I do.

Wow, the customer service when I ordered the cup was terrible. The girl was very monotone and not very helpful at all. She also didn’t even tell me that this had mate in it, even though I said I wanted an oolong that didn’t have a lot of caffeine……I was a little annoyed at that.

However, I did enjoy this oolong, and I enjoy it more now that I know what the ingredients actually are since she wouldn’t tell me. It was a little bit earthy, but I guess that was due to the mate. The chocolate was pretty muted, but still good. I wasn’t overly impressed though.
I got this as a cup to go, so I am not even sure if the salesgirl brewed it correctly or not.

I’ve been drinking this one a lot lately. Not sure if I’m drinking it because I like it, or it’s the most drinkable of the ones I want to sipdown…..

I found the flavor of this tea to be very, very weak. It claims to be like a chocolate hawaiian cake, but I tasted nothing of the sort. Especially if used as directed, I found you have to use more than the recommended amount to taste it. I received this tea in the Teavana dessert teas gift set, and while not horrible, it’s not something to write home about. I agree with others in that it has more of a tea “dust” than leaves, which sink though the filter. However tonight I am trying it mixed with CococCaramel sea salt per others suggestion so we’ll see how it goes.

Teavana describes this tea as having a “robust cacao” flavor. The envelope that I purchased definitely did NOT have a robust flavor of cacao or chocolate; what I could taste is mate. I will give them credit for having oolong tea as the first ingredient; however, the description far exceeded the product. I did not find this tea to be anymore enjoyable than a plain oolong, and possibly not as enjoyable. Not horrible, just not great.
