From Teavana

Tres Bien! This French-inspired flavored oolong tea features luscious strawberries, pink rose buds, crisp rhubarb, white grapes, soft vanilla, and a hint of bubbly champagne. Deliciously romantic, it’s a sumptuous combination that sparkles on the palate, conjuring up dreamy days ambling along Epernay’s rolling vineyards and valleys.

Mmmm. This is a nice tea. Today I blended it with Teavana’s Blueberry Bliss, and the combination was excellent. I put ~32oz of water over 4 tsp of Strawberry Rose Champagne + 4 tsp of Blueberry Bliss + 4-5 tsp of rock sugar. After steeping, I put the resulting tea in the fridge to enjoy as iced tea tomorrow. It was still so amazingly fragrant—and I probably used more leaves than I needed to—that I decided to pour ~16oz of water over the used mix (without adding more sugar) and I steeped that for about 5 minutes. It was DELICIOUS! With such an amazing second steep, I can’t wait to taste the first steep iced tomorrow.

First off, I’m surprised to see this is an oolong because I do not taste it. It tastes like a tisane. When I first brewed it and itwas still very hot, the rose flavor was very strong. It made me think of drinking the water from a vase of roses. As it has cooled some, the stawberry and fruit is becoming more prominent which is making it more drinkable to me. Not one I will drink on its own again, but might be good blended with the peach tranquility tea.

Yesterday, while visiting Teavana in a mall in another city, my daughters and I decided this was the best tea they had available for tasting. After enjoying several sips, I decided to buy a couple of ounces. We brewed a pot today as well and sweetened it with Teavana German brown sugar. It is very pleasant, a little long on the strawberries for my taste, but overall a nice blend. The rose and champagne flavors are noticable but not as pronounced as the strawberry. Its a nice flavored oolong. I would buy it again.

I was afraid to try this tea at first. As much as I love strawberries and love oolong I absolutely hate fake strawberry flavor.

Luckily, this tea does things right. The rhubarb and fennel really help to balance the strawberry with the subtle floral notes of the oolong. The flavor is great.

My favorite way to prepare this tea is as a syrup with sparkling water. The bubbliness of the water really adds to the champagne feel.

Another impulse buy because of the Heavenly Tea sale. Hard to resist 75% off to try a bunch of teas.

Dry: First smell was the slightly artificial strawberry, then the floral notes. Faint hint of champagne. Not much oolong in my bag.

Steeped:
Pale rose/orange colored. Much stronger on the champagne flavor, though I’m noticing the rose as well, with a hint of the berry. I didn’t really like this tea in the store when they served it iced with Peach Tranquility, but maybe its because I like my tea only slightly sweetened. I couldn’t taste the oolong.

I probably won’t drink this straight, but I look forward to blending it. I wonder how it would go with the Six Summits to add more of the oolong flavor back in.

I bought this tea at the Mall of America Teavana store when I went in to get more Earl Grey Creme. The fragrance of the tea was very nice, so I decided to try a couple ounces. You can taste tropical fruit (sweet), some rose, and a hint of champagne bubble. But quite honestly, I could not taste oolong tea. I think they put too much sweet fruit in this tea as it is just too sweet for me. And they really need to bump up the amount of oolong; I took a good look at the dried tea that I had and did not see very much actual tea in the bag. An unfortunate disappointment. I won’t buy again.

Not too much of a fan of this tea hot; it’s a tea that smells delicious, but the taste is not up to par. This tea is definitely more of an herbal tea to me, because there is VERY little oolong in it. Good for if you want the strawberry, but not so good if you’re looking for good flavored oolong.

Going to try cold brewing it and see how it tastes iced!
