Another that I got today:)

I like this tea that I think I would like finishing this off, but I am not sure I would want to get this again. I have not had dragonfruit so could not say whether this tastes like true dragonfruit or not. Luckily the flavor profile that I tasted tastes very little like most of the other fruity teas. Actually, the only taste that it reminded me of was Citrus Lavender Sage. Which in fact was suggested on the site as a combo.

Oh heavenly strawberries… how I love to taste you sweetened in the morning. :) This is a yummy herbal fruit tea. I steeped mine strong and added concentrated powdered stevia – drank it warm. Yummy!

This one is hands-down my favorite tea from the spring collection. I have been having at least one cup of this a day (either straight up or blended with some other fruity tea). I hope this one stays permanently.

Sipdown…
Dug this one out of my tea cupboard and cold-brewed the last of it in a big pitcher. Just to get rid of it. Obviously, it’s super old. But I think since the concentration of the brew is strong, it helped keep the flavoring from being watered down, even with the ice I poured it over.
It’s cloyingly sweet, as was/ is characteristic of most Teavana blends. Lemongrass and strawberry are the dominant notes, with the dragonfruit and pineapple adding a slightly acidic-perfume-y, fruit-punch like kick at the end. It’s not my favorite thing in the world, but it is a lovely bright reddish pink color and it refreshed me just fine during this heat wave in Northeastern US.

Hot cuppa, from last night.

I was craving dragonfruit quite a bit last night so I just grabbed the first dragonfruit tea in my stash that I saw – which was this one. The other option would have been DT’s Magic Dragon. It wasn’t actually nearly as dragonfruit heavy in flavour as I wanted it to be. In fact, it was more of a hot lemonade with strawberry and dragonfruit undertones.

I drank this one right before whatever is making me sick really hit me though. Like, I literally finished the mug off and not five minutes later I threw up the entire thing…

So, you know, I don’t think in this particular situation the fact it was more lemon heavy than dragonfruit actually matters all that much – I’m sure it would have tasted equally disgusting coming up if it were the other way around in terms of the lemon/dragonfruit balance. So… yeah…

That was how I ruined brahmi herbal tea for me. I got sick about an hour later and now I can’t drink it without feeling sick. It happened to me once in high school when I got sick soon after eating a pear and I still can’t eat pears without feeling nauseous. I’m sorry you weren’t feeling well. How are you feeling today?

Roswell Strange

Still pretty awful – I took a sick day from work, but around supper time I was finally able to keep down some food and I’ve been having a few nice cups of tea this evening too. So getting better, slowly!

Sipdown 53 on this month’s challenge. I’m doing caffeine free today and I’m working through a few coldbrews while there is some sun shining.

I really like this tea and wish I had a way to more. It makes an excellent iced tea. Today I’m enjoying the tropical fruit and lemongrass flavours by adding half a tsp of agave nectar to sweeten it slightly. Lots of lychee, dragon fruit, citrus, strawberry (?), papaya, and pear. The hibiscus isn’t terrible, which is why I find this blend is worth having around. Slightly sweetened it is even better, but if you are careful about not letting it steep more than ~5 minutes in cold water it isn’t sour.

This is my first attempt at loose leaf tea. I’m noticing a trend of I want stronger flavors, so I either need to add more or steep for longer—probably the first. I have no idea what dragonfuit tastes like, but rather than fruit I taste a more floral/leafy taste. I was expecting something a little more fruity with the ingredients mentioned in the description. But none the less, it’s still a good cup of hot tea. If I ever served cold, I’d definitely add some sugar to it.

I love the way this tea smells. The lingering perfume taste doesn’t turn me off enough to to not finish the bag. Slighly sour but balanced by the sweeter notes. I’ve had it iced and hot and definitely hot is the way to go.
