From Teavana

As legend has it, Buddhist monks formulated this ancient top ten treasure. The monks trained monkeys to gather the youngest leaves from the tip-top of wild tea trees for this special Imperial Reserve blend. The secret lives on with the deft hand plucking of the unbroken, evenly sized leaves that unfurl to create the most complex yet light orchid aroma and highest grade of oolong in the world. IMPERIAL RESERVE

Smooth, bright orchid aroma throughout with clean refreshing finish

How to Prepare
Use 1 teaspoon of tea per 8oz of water. Heat water to 195-200 degrees and steep tea for 3-4 minutes. 2oz of tea equals 25-30 teaspoons.
Ingredients:
Pure oolong tea.

Clean, buttery, and refreshing. Slightly nutty finish. A little overpriced, but tasty nun the less.

Really enjoyed this tea, light but full of flavor. My wife’s new favorite Oolong and handy to be able to get it at Teavana.

Delicious. I love the subtle floral notes and the pleasant aftertaste. The second resteep is still good, and even the third is better than your garden variety oolong (though noticeably more tannic than the first and second steepings). Not quite worth the price tag, in reality, but it had been so long since I’d indulged in a high quality tea that I caved (and the salesman gave me 10% off). No regrets. I’ve greatly enjoyed this tea every morning since.

I thought that this tea was enjoyable. It wasn’t as yummy as Rishi’s tieguanyin, though. It may have just been a little old, too. There was a slight dinginess to it. It was only slightly perfumed, and had a creaminess to it. It wasn’t sweet, or roasty, as you’d expect. I was also put off by the price. Way overpriced! I tried it both gonfu style, and mesh basket style. Neither seemed better.

It tastes like Alishan High Mountain Tea. Just like it actually… I love it, but why pay so much for it when you can buy Alishan for a bit cheaper?

Only two sources for Monkey picked. I think teavana may be better than SpecialTeas. Light flavor. Did 4 steeps.

I totally agree with Luthien (the first post) on this one. In that it is a pretty good oolong but you can’t beat a good Formosa Oolong! Formosa Oolongs are my current favorite so I maybe biased. I will continue to drink my monkey picked until it’s all gone but won’t rebuy Monkey picked from Teavana. It’s not worth the price when their are better oolongs at more reasonable prices.

I finally made my way to teavana and decided to spring for their ultimate oolong. The flavor and scent is a sweet mix between vegetal and flowery. After drinking a couple cups of this I felt very relaxed and soothed. It is rather expensive tea ($12.50/ounce) but it can be infused up to 3 times. It is hard to go wrong with this oolong.

Very nice oolong, on the lighter side. Subtle floral flavor. Very smooth
