Masala Chai has been one of my favorite chais for a while, I nomally get it from Rishi tea, but I was in Teavana the other day and thought I would try theirs. I enjoyed it This one does not have as much of the spice that I am use too but I did enjoy the ginger, it came out more in the Teavana version.

I perfer all teas iced, so this recipe was: 8.33 weighed ounces of hot water 3tbs of tea blend for 4 mins and 8.33 weighed ounces of iced.

Flavors: Cinnamon, Ginger, Pepper

I really enjoy this Chai. I consider it to be a standard Chai that is great for hot or cold brewing with lots of milk. It is not absolutely amazing or something that I must have all the time – otherwise, I would have given it marks in the 90s – but it is a reliable Chai tea that I often come back to when I am taking a little break from my favourite teas. It has not been in stock at Teavana for many months, so I am starting to wonder if they are changing the blend….which worries me a little. I do not find the spices overwhelming which is a nice change from some of the other spicy Chais when I want a Chai that is more mild. I highly recommend this one, at least before any changes are made to the blend!

I stopped by my local Teavana a couple of weeks ago and they have this one back in stock. But it is still not on the website. I’m makes me wonder if they found some old stock which they then shipped to local stores or if they are bringing in fresh stock from suppliers. I got a bit of the tea from store to try out and it tastes the same as the stuff I have at home. I sure hope they don’t change anything!

While this isn’t as perfect as using pure black chai and masala spice to taste, it is a reliably delicious easy cuppa. If you’re willing to wait, you can steep a nice cup with very little and get a deep palette of the spices (cinnamon, anise, cardamom, ) and good old black tea flavor. Absolutely recommend for any strong chai lover.

There is something about the mildness of this tea that I really love. The spices do not overpower the tea flavor at all. I used a bit of rock sugar to balance the taste and I found it perfect. Soft spices flavor, strong black tea taste and a final kick from the cinnamon. I love this chai.

this was my first chai tea. I had it at the store and thought it was pretty good. If it was not discontinued i would definitely get some.

Have they changed it recently? The quality of the tea leaf looks wrong, as if it’s been mechanically dehydrated rather than dried, and it’s not as spicy as I recall. In fact, I added in my own spices to get it up to par so I could finish it off.
