From Teavana

This delicious chai is made from Aspalathus linoaris, a South African plant that gives it a rich, red color. The red Rooibos is naturally caffeine-free and filled with vitamin C, minerals, and proteins. And combined with cinnamon, vanilla, ginger, and lemongrass, it makes a wonderful herbal tea.

How to Prepare
Use 1.5 teaspoons of tea per 8oz of water. Heat water to 208 degrees and steep for 5-6 minutes. 2oz of tea equals 25-30 teaspoons.
Ingredients:
Red Rooibos with ginger, cinnamon, vanilla, lemongrass and cardamom.

Probably the first loose tea I tried, and definitely the first from Teavana. So far its the best chai I’ve had and it serves as the baseline for comparing all others.

The cinnamon in this tea wakes you up! One of my favorite morning teas. This is what I use to persuade die hard coffee drinkers that tea can be just as energizing! Doesn’t even need anything added to it, the spices do everything for you.

Great calm-down tea. Or sick tea, becaue anything makes a nice sick tea..I think.. (Hot water+ variant herbs) + throat = instant healing? Looks good to me.

But back to the tea. Like most chais, I think this would be great with sweetener and maybe some milk (or vanilla soy milk for a real treat of treats). However, it’s great plain, which is how I am drinking it.

I am a big fan of rooibos, and certainly chai; this one isn’t too bad a blend. Easy and smooth going down, I believe the rooibos helps take the sting out of the chai’s spices. This might be good for people looking for a less-intense chai flavor.
