I was at Whole foods tonight and I noticed they seem to have changed their bulk tea selection so they have more stuff by the Jasmine Pearl and less by the Silk Road and others – I don’t know if this is an improvement or not but of course I had to pick a few things to try.

This stuff is interesting, it was meant to be a coffee substitute which makes it nice for the evening. I am definitely picking up on the cacao as well as a strong cinnamon element. When you add soymilk to it, it reminds me of a Mexican hot chocolate. There is also a LOT of cinnamon in here. The blend is a little strong for me so I am wondering how this would be mixed in with some regular black tea, although I do not have any plain decaffeinated tea at the moment. This was ok but I doubt I will need to get anymore.

I didn’t know Whole Foods had a bulk tea section!

TeaBrat

Not all of them do, but mine does. :D

Michelle

Aha! I don’t usually go there, but I should take a look :)

I can’t even resist bagged teas like PG Tips and Yorkshire Gold-I’d probably get into trouble at Whole Foods.

Michelle

Haha! I’ve never actually tried either one of those, but I’ve heard good things about both!

momo

Yeah I’m glad the one by me doesn’t have bulk tea, but I did see some at one much further north. They had a giant barrel of green mate for awhile at the one in my neighborhood and that was it.

TeaBrat

I wasn’t a big fan of Yorkshire Gold, don’t know if I’ve ever had PG Tips…

CupofTree

love whole foods tea selection! can’t go to many other places for tea in south florida. PG Tips is great also.

I really want to love this tea as much as I love the Dark Forest chai from Townshend’s, but it doesn’t quite get there for me. It gets a little bitter later in the pot, but overall is a pretty nice morning cup.
